Hugo Weaving is the Red Skull

The actor has been confirmed as the Red Skull in the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger movie.

Marvel studios has confirmed that Weaving will play the Red Skull in the upcoming movie. The Skull, who is Captain America’s quintessential villain, was trained by Adolf Hitler himself. The character will be updated for the movie from its comic book roots.

Weaving is famous for notable roles in the Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and Transformers, among many others. Captain America: The First Avenger starts Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, and is slated for release on July 22, 2011.
