JSA Vs Kobra writer joins Greg Rucka to tell the adventures of Nightwing and Flamebird

Comics Should Be Good have reported that Eric Trautmann, the writer of JSA Vs. Kobra and The Shield is joining Greg Rucka as co-writer on Action Comics. This is a reunion for them, as they worked together on Checkmate.

The current Action Comics run doesn’t actually star Superman, instead Trautmann and Rucka will be writing the exploits of Nightwing (Chris Kent) and Flamebird (Thara Ak-Var, Supergirl’s best friend) as they face the current Anti-Kryptonian conspiracy. There is also a Captain Atom back-up by Rucka and James Robinson, but it’s not known if Trautmann is getting involved with that.

Trautmann’s Checkmate work seems to be pretty popular online, so… this is good news? Yeah?
