Each week InvestComics seeks out a comic(s) on Ebay for $100 or less and then brings it to the attention of our fans. We call it IC 100 Club Pick. The idea is to get a great book at a great price. We do not own nor are we selling these comics. The comics are found by a random process. We do not know the ebay seller(s), nor are we promoting the Ebay seller. Any knowing from the Ebay seller of InvestComics or its affiliates is purely coincidental. (See disclaimer for more details).

IC 100 Club Pick: Detective Comics #871 graded 9.6. It’s kind of a rare thing these days to get a JOCK signature. Anyone that follows InvestComics knows how much we love the artist Jock. We have an entire checklist of our favorite works by him right HERE. So this comic is a graded 9.6 with a Scott Snyder and a Jock signature. For only $99, this is a nice book.

Hold on folks, here come the DC Rebirth books. Be on the look out for first appearances. It only takes ONE to breakout and cause quite a stir in the aftermarket. Be on top of these good stories as DC breaths new life into their Rebirth era. Here are some highlights; Green Lanterns Rebirth #1 puts writer Geoff Johns back with artist Ethan Van Sciver on a Green Lantern book. These two make Lantern poetry together. “Newer” Green Lanterns Jessica Cruz (first appearance in Justice League #30 – 2014) and Simon Baz (First appearance was in The New 52 FCBD Special Edition #1 – 2012. First origin was in Green Lantern #0 – 2012) lead the charge here.

Marvel introduces Sinister Six 2099 in Spider-Man 2099 #11.
A mega four issue comic crossover happens all in one comic this week. Where you ask? Only one comic could pull this off, Deadpool #13. Duh! That Khoi Pham variant cover though…….
Marvel’s Civil War II officially gets under way this week. Civil War II #1 is solicited as “CLASSIFIED”. More of the same with Invincible Iron Man #10. Boy we hate that. Now we have to wait another week before finding out what is so “classified”. The Rafael Alburquerque hip hop cover is dope though. We’ll just stare at that until Wednesday’s new comic book day.

Blackest Night carries on as Siege does as well. Also, check out some InvestComics news and of course this weeks Hot Picks…

In InvestComics news, The Secret Identity Podcast will be airing an InvestComics ad spot into their regular rotation. Check out the Secret Identity Podcast as they bring a very polished show every week.

There was plenty of original content to peel your eyes to this past week. The Brokers Corner had 2 articles this week, check them out here and here, while The Secret Identity Podcast reeled off 2 game reviews here and here. An extremely awesome Bob Heske interview occurred on Comics Bulletin, check that out right here and an extremely awesome new IndieCreator article hit as well! Finally, 2 Comic Book Guys gave InvestComics a movie review of Wolfman. Read this review and know why fans anticipate their next article ALL the time. These 2 guys simply bring FUN into their articles!

Hot Picks 2-24-10

Short week, but with Blackest Night and Siege, it’s an awesome time to be reading comics ain’t it?!?!
Last week, SuperginraiX of the Outhouse pointed out a glaring mistake in the Hot Picks. It was stated that the Blackest Night epic was on its final issue. This is obliviously not true and was a big error. These things happen once in a blue moon and InvestComics apologizes for the misstep. …..So with that, Blackest Night #7 comes out this week with a ‘Top Secret’ cover. The
flashrebirth6.gifthor607.gifseries DOES press on and continues to be the hottest comic event on the planet. Follow MORE Lantern in Black Lantern Green Arrow #30. It looks like Flash: Rebirth #6 will finally come out. Although many fans have been disgruntled about the delay, watch this comic fly off the shelves as the second and third printings will be following very shortly.
Marvel’s own epic Siege is living up to its hype so far. Thor #607 looks like THE Siege book of the week. Don’t miss this one! This week brings the end of a Marvel comic. Ms. Marvel #50 will be a fight to the finish between Ms. Marvel & Mystique. Look for this comic to sell out quickly.

captainswing1.gifmsmarvel50.gifOne Independent title jumps out this week. Captain Swing #1 from Avatar, written by the awesome Warren Ellis.

Here are some other comics to check out this Wednesday……

InvestComics Comic Hot Picks 1-13-10

icfp11310.gif

Check out this week’s InvestComics Comics & Cinema article over on Project Fanboy for the complete Green Lantern Comic book check list on Monday 1-11-10! Sticking with the movie theme, looks like Thor will lay the hammer down on the Spider-Man movie, check it out right here. Thanks to SuperHeroHype for that nice nugget. InvestComics has 2 trailers running on the front page right now, one is the new Kick Ass trailer in HD and the other is an A-Team trailer. The Kick Ass movie is going to be awesome and I cannot wait for it!

InvestComics had 4 new articles go up in the last couple of days. You could click the links in here to go directly to the articles. Topher Seal’s Brokers Corner has some back issue treasures to check out. Chris Winters brings his
in-depth album reviews to Lil Wayne’s new one in the ChrisToPhenom column. The IndieCreator himself Bob Heske gives us part 2 of Stephen Downey’s Making of Demented.

Check out ALL of the IndieCreator articles right here if you’d like to learn about the business or need some sort of connection someplace to get started. The IndieCreator columns are extremely informative! Last but not least, InvestComics debuted a new column called 2 Comic Book Guys. The column is written by Jay and Friday. They share a unique perspective on the comic book world and will bring that to InvestComics. The first article is written by Jay with another article coming from Friday very shortly. These articles MAY seem offensive to some, so I do warn anyone that if you are easily offended, do not click on the link when it shows up on the front page of IC. These guys are raw, but are A LOT of fun!

…And now on to the very short list this week on Hot Picks!

amspm41_1strhino_1966_500_romitasr.gifamspm617.gifIt looks like the Rhino is coming back in a big way. Judging by the Amazing Spider-Man #617 cover he looks pissed. Get the heck out of the way! One comic you should not be getting out of the way is Rhino’s first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #41 (1966). This beauty is brought to you by the living legend John Romita Sr. The delay in the new Spider-Man movie only means that maybe Rhino is one step to becoming a reality instead of whoever else might be the villain(s) in the movie. So for a very affordable $500, you could score on an early Spidey comic and have the first appearance of a character that seems to be pissed off an awful lot. Then again, if you had a huge horn sticking out in the middle of your head, you’d be angry too.

conanthecimmeriantheweightofthecrown_darickrobertson.gifsuperherosquad1.gifpunishermax3_1stmennonite.gifDarick Robertson of The Boys comes to Dark Horse comics this week to deliver a One Shot that will probably sell out quickly. Conan the Cimmerian The Weight of the Crown might be the longest winded title of the week, but don’t expect this comic to last too long on the shelf.
With Disney now leading Marvel by the hand, it’s no surprise that we will see more of the Super Hero Squad. A new number one issue comes out with a real hot cartoon series behind it. Look for this one to be gone quickly. Hero up!
PunisherMax #3 introduces a villain named Mennonite. Who or what is a Mennonite? Don’t know, but that name doesn’t sound promising. Stranger things have happened….

Check out these IC extras coming at you this week:
