Hot on the heels of the successful mini epic Secret Invasion comes Dark Reign. The reign will fall quite heavy on the Marvel Universe as well as demand……

Look for a very quick second print to follow in the coming weeks. Of all of the Dark Reign number one issues to coming out, there is one you should be looking for, the NYCC Variant from Midtown Comics. The cover is beautifully done by Adi Granov with the Iron Patriot holding the America flag. The message boards are hot with the question, who is the Iron Patriot? Marvel Comics once again has created the buzz as they always seem to do with their comics and Dark Reign looks like it’s going to be a fun ride! Click above to see a full cover of the very cool Dark Reign number one NYCC Midtown Comics Variant as well as this week’s other Hot Picks.

Marvel Comics dominates the Hot Picks this week. With much to choose from there aren’t many slam dunks this week, but a promise of some good storytelling with limited market value……

Go into this week with your reading glasses on instead of the mad money thought. The week brings in the aftermath of Secret Invasion as well as a possible aftermath of Civil War. Long live Iron Man! An X-Men comic goes into a second printing and the first printing hasn’t hit stands yet! Come inside the Hot Picks for this week with much more to talk about……..

xmen_noir.jpgX-Men Noir #1 This comic is so hot already that Marvel is going back to the presses with a second print already. Check out the VERY cool second print cover right here at InvestComics Marvel Exclusive Press Releases! This comic is mucho scorching and is asking for your attention pronto

deathdefyingdevil_1.jpgdeathdefyingdev_1.jpg

Death Defying Devil #1 This character is flat out ultra cool. Going with success, Dynamite is following up the hot series Project Superpowers. The Devil gets kudos from legend John Romita Sr. in a beauty of a cover. Dynamite has a winner here and you better not be caught sleeping on this one.

xspider_2.jpgX-Men/Spider-Man #2 Issue number one was met with a huge round of applause and issue number 2 is going to be doing the same. Anytime you tell a story that is well written, beautifully drawn and evolves the X-men and Spider-Man meeting up for the first time, it’s safe to say it’s a formula for success.

whatif_cap.jpg

What If? Captain America Fallen Son This is one of those What If? stories that you simply can not miss. What If Iron Man died instead of Captain America in Marvel’s Civil War? This will probably be sellout and a second print to follow right away. Don’t get caught without the first print, this is the sleeper Hot Pick of the week. So wake up from your nap will ya!

bluemarvel_2.jpg

Adam: Legend of Blue Marvel #2 The first issue did very well as this series will gather some steam as it rolls. Blue Marvel will be a player in the Marvel Universe and you should be jumping in on his origin stories.

darkreign_1.jpg

Secret Invasion: Dark Reign #1 Secret Invasion ‘continues’ with Dark Reign.

wwoz_01_shanowervariantcover.jpg

Wizard of Oz #1 The Oz gets the Marvel treatment. No not the HBO series (although that would be quite interesting!). We all know the Wizard of Oz is a timeless classic, we all know Marvel Comics are kicking butt these days. It a match made in heaven.

 wolverinefliestoaspider.jpg

Wolverine: Flies To A Spider #1 Lots of semi-colons in the Marvel titles this week! Written by Gregg Hurwitz. Worth a look…..

golddigger_101.jpg

InvestComics Comic Hot Pick 4-30-08

Marvel Invasion brings us back to 1977!

Marvel Premiere #35

Way back in 1977 the comic world was introduced to an unusual Marvel hero named 3D-Man. Our hero was created by none other than the famous Roy Thomas. His powers as his name might suggest is that of a man 3 times the normal strength of man. Oh yes, we almost forgot one of his better attributes. He can peg out any Skrull no matter what form they may be in. Hmmmm…..I bet you know where this is going.

3D-Man is set to play either a vital or a MAJOR role in the Secret Invasion saga. In this upcoming week we get introduced to the NEW 3D-Man in Avengers: The Initiative # 12.

So here’s the deal. You can pick up the new comic on Wednesday, but also pick up 3D’s first appearance on Ebay for only $2 – $4 more. Yes, you can pick up Marvel Premiere # 35 for MEGA cheap……for now? InvestComics just picked up a NM copy from Mile high comics for $7. And yes that is with shipping. We spent the extra couple of dollars to ensure that we are going to get guaranteed quality. Otherwise you can pick this comic up on Ebay for $2.

This weeks pick falls into the no-brainer category. A first appearance from 1977 from Roy Thomas of a character that might be playing a Major role in the new Marvel hit for a price tag of $2 is an easy affordable deal.

Invest wisely.

An Invasion tie in

Mighty Avengers #12

The Secret Invasion has begun and it looks like everyone is on board for the ride. Sell outs on the recent tie ins as well as Secret Invasion # 1 are indicative indications that Secret Invasion is NOT going to be a SECRET at the cash register or your investments very much longer. Investcomics© called a few LCS to see how the SI Yu variant fared. Most of them either did not receive the comic at all or sold it within a couple of hours. SI is going to get bigger in a couple of weeks. Be ready, get on board because Some guy named Nick Fury is coming back!
Ol’ Nick has been MIA for some time now. Mighty Avengers #12 has a few things going in it’s favor. Nick Fury will be clocking back to the secret war to put together some pieces that makes him public enemy numero uno. Another MAJOR reveal is coming from this book as well. So big Marvel says it will ROCK the entire MU. We’ll check back on that one! Then you have a real nice cover going here by rising star Marko Djurdjevic! Not getting the little box though, but okay who cares? This comic is going to ROCK!
Buy this comic and sit on it until Secret Invasion comes to a fever pitch. This fans is a MAJOR tie in that you can not afford to miss!!

Invest wisely.

InvestComics Comic Hot Pick 2-13-08

An under ordered pre Secret Invasion comic equals $$$$$$

Nova # 3 (Vol 5)

Nova Makes his InvestComics debut! This week Marvel has 2 great releases that could have made the Hot Pick page, but only one made it. Fantastic Four # 554 is an awesome pick for a good hold and sell. Bryan Hitch and Mark Millar make their debut and it promises to be a great ride, but Nova # 3 promises to be a better one!

This issue has already sold out at Diamond as the Marvel hype machine begins to churn. Marvel notified dealers to order heavy and the dealers have responded. Marvel is stating that this issue starts the Secret Invasion storyline. They also say that there is a HUGE plot development (A major Skrull reveal?). This comic just might fly under the radar as far as collectors go. A miss of this issue for the modern investor is a big possibility. A low print run is a possibility as well. Nova was not pulling in huge numbers, so Marvel sent out their usual print run and are sold out.

This issue is a going to be in some serious demand once the Invasion begins. It’s going to be in some serious demand before the Invasion as well. Look to buy this issue and sell it on Ebay within the week of it’s release. It’s easily $10 book within it’s first week. Look for it to gradually gain momentum as The Secret Invasion hits. If The Secret Invasion chronicle takes off (which it probably will) Nova #3 is going to be the next She Hulk Civil War book. Buy  Nova #3, Buy, Buy, Buy……

Invest wisely.
