Disney buys Fox Studios and fans get some of their Marvel characters that have been M.I.A. for some time now. Besides the Fantastic Four coming back, so will Wolverine. Not the old guy, not the girl, the real Wolverine we all know and love. Check out Hunt For Wolverine #1 as the beginning and the return to some normalcy to the Marvel Universe. Speaking of normal, lots and lots of variant covers to choose from here. Writer Charles Soule and artists David Marquez and Paulo Siqueira. When Marvel set out on a 16 week, continuous Avengers storyline, many thought it would never be without a delay….somewhere. That delay never occurred and the result was nothing short of absolute praise from comic fans everywhere. Of course the naysayers and complainer’s will always be around, but for the most part, comic fans were very satisfied with the run thus far. The ‘No Surrender’ story concludes this Wednesday in Avengers #690. The issue will introduce readers to an all new Avengers team. The Cosmic Ghost Rider trends seem to be leveling a bit. The first appearance in Thanos #13 still is sort after. With the character still in its infantile hot stage, Marvel strikes while the iron is hot. This week; Thanos Annual #1 features a narrative story from the Cosmic Ghost Rider himself regarding all of the ‘bad stuff’ Thanos has ever done. Bad, very bad Thanos. It’s safe to say this could be the most trending comic of the week. Writers; Kieron Gillen, Ryan North, Al Ewing, Christopher Hastings, Katie Cook, and Donny Cates. Artists; Frazer Irving and Katie Cook. Oh, one more thing regarding Cosmic Ghost Rider. Check out the Gabriel Hernandez Walta cover to Redneck #12. It’s a hysterical homage to the Cosmic Ghost Rider craze. Over the years Marvel Comics have given Moon Knight fans countless origin stories on Marc Spector. Seems as though if they gave a retelling or a new angle on it, it would garner more attention to the character. Moon Knight gets another retelling or a spice up origin in Moon Knight #194. Realize one thing though. If, or when Moon Knight breaks out into his own Netflix series or film, the speculators will go nuts and the trends will hit hard on all Moon Knight issues. The first appearance in Werewolf By Night #32 will break out tremendously. Any issue of Moon Knight that resembles an origin, first appearance, a premiere issue, a number one issue, a rare variant, etc will trend big. Click right HERE and thumb through some Moon Knight comics on Ebay. Get these comics cheaper now, before the ‘big wave’ hits. You never know.

An oversized anniversary issue brings out some dramatic storytelling and talent. The monthly superstar creators on this book Charles Soule and Ron Garney deliver a ‘surprise ending’ that will shock readers. And as expected, a ton of variants to choose from. The Joe Quesada Daredevil #600 variant is the trending book to grab. Speaking of crazy endings, Marvel promises a “a quadruple sized cliffhanger, you will not want to miss…” in Invincible Iron Man #600. The funny thing is, Invincible Iron Man #598 comes out this Wednesday with THAT very solicit about issue 600. Marvel churns up that hyper machine a bit early don’t they? Although they are saying too that Invincible Iron Man #598 will be leading into that comic, so get on board now I guess. Choo-choo! All-Aboard! Damnation Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider #1; Writer Christopher Sebela and artist Phil Noto. In what has become a regular thing with local comic shops regarding the weekly Avengers “No Surrender” storyline, most are limiting ONE copy per customer during the new release. The Hulk is back, and? What’s with the hype here for speculators forcing shops to limit one per customer almost every week with this comic? Avengers #686 gets a lot of attention this week and gets the ‘One Per’ tag underneath it at many shops.

Either way, this final issue is guaranteed to garner some steam. Suicide Squad #38, ‘Tear Down The Wall’ part one. Writer Rob Williams, artist Jose Luis and Mick Gray. As previous discussed within the confines of the InvestComics Hot Picks articles, delays kill. They kill momentum. Do fans still care about ‘Doomsday Clock’? Guess we’ll find out this Wednesday as it’s been over six(?) weeks or more since we left off with issue three. Sales and reaction regarding Doomsday Clock #4this week will speak volumes coming back from a long delay.

One more thing, at a recent show, Scout Comics gave InvestComics a peek into a lot of their future projects. Scout Comics is just scratching the surface here. Comic fans are in for some great product(s). This is not hyperbole. Valiant Entertainment will going all in with their new Shadowman #1 release. A big market push by them is warranted. Star creator power Andy Diggle and Stephen Segovia add to the confidence level here. A ridiculously well told story along with superb art delivers this Shadowman series comic on a new level. Look for some trending tracks on this comic as interest starts to spread after readers get a hold of this one. InvestComics Hot Picks already highlighted Zenescope’s Peek-A-Boo #1 (2 weeks ago?) as a release to check out. A delay pushed it back to this week. Now, the trend shows it’s just about sold out. A DC character that’s made only a handful of appearances since (8 to be exact, yeah, yeah more than a handful + 3 digits) 2016/2017 will reappear outside of the Deathstroke universe for the first time. This character is named Red Lion. (insert sarcasm here) boy does this dude look familiar. Can’t seem to place it. Maybe the number one movie (Marvel) at the box office right now? Nah, that’s not it. Anyway, The Red Lion is a main adversary of Deathstroke’s and will appear inJustice League #41this Wednesday. Red Lion first appeared inDeathstroke Rebirth #1(2016). Learn some secrets behind the new Damage character inDamage #3as Wonder Woman rings in Damage with her lasso. Supposedly some deep secrets here. Maybe having to do with other characters within the DC Universe? Maybe not, who knows? Either way, definitely looking forward to this. DC delivers the origin of King Rath inAquaman #34. Writer Dan Abnett and artist Mirko Colak. There will be an obvious trending comic this Wednesday. That comic will beWeapon H #1. If you need this article to tell you this, well….you’re probably really new at this. So if you’re new, Weapon H is one of these new breakout characters from the Marvel Universe. Weapon H is a mash-up of the Hulk and Wolverine. Weapon H first appeared inTotally Awesome Hulk #22FIVE months ago (in which we gave fans a heads up on). This first appearance last sold on Ebay for $60 for a raw copy. A raw has sold for upwards of $80 on Ebay. A graded CGC 9.8 sold for a whopping $172. Are we living in the Twilight Zone? So getting back toWeapon H #1. This is the first solo title, second prints will be announced shortly thereafter.

The Cable character is a hot item these days. Marvel will strike while the iron is hot. Cable #155 begins a look at Cable’s past and a possible introduction of a new character to boot. The new creative team of writer Zac Thompson and artist German Peralta bring a new look into this characters past and a start of an important storyline of this character. The “House of Ideas” sometimes really beat an idea to the ground don’t they? Case in point, the Cosmic Ghost Rider seems to be trending (for now), so what does Marvel do? Well, they make everyone a Ghost Rider! Now the not so informed speculators and other places are pushing the idea that this is a fantastic idea (monetarily) and it will be worth millions one day. The main question one should ask themselves before plucking down $40 or $50 or $80 for a first appearance of Cosmic Ghost Rider or a Weapon H or a Red Goblin is, where will this character be in 5 years? A third-rate character? The modern day Venom attraction? A trending sustainable character that a non-comic fan would know its name? At the end of the day, it’s YOUR money, I’m just here offering things to think about, an opinion. Fun story idea though for what Marvel is doing concerning Ghost Rider at the moment. Although a neat idea, Cosmic GR and a team of Ghost Rider heroes, the idea could fade as does the Ghost Rider lure all the time. A quick punch in the gut, everyone goes nuts and then the dust settles, and no one cares. It’s the Ghost Rider way. It’s the trend. Happens all the time. This week Doctor Strange Damnation #3 showcases Thor, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, Black Panther among others as Ghost Rider based characters. Basically, a flaming skull head on top of their regular bodies. Flame on! Wait, wait wrong dude…. Jane Foster will meet her maker this Wednesday in Mighty Thor #705. Marvel is killing Thor. Killing the Jane Foster as Thor Idea. No reason to cry really. She could make an appearance in another relaunch/revamp of the Marvel Universe or if sales slump a bit in the new (resurrected/continued numbered) Thor series. Either way though, for now, THIS Thor is about to bite the dust. Remember how InvestComics kept telling readers to chillnax on the buying of this Thor at a premium price? Well, you could’ve put that money somewhere else. Iron Man Hong Kong Heroes #1 features the introduction of a new ironed suited hero. It also features a new Iron Man suit. Writer Howard Wong and artist Justice Wong. Look for a possible introduction or two in Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows #17. Incredible Hulk #714, World War Hulk II with Amadeus Cho. Really? Okay. Many comic shops are still limiting customers to ONE copy of the weekly Avengers storyline “No Surrender”. This week’s Avengers #685 is the continuation of the return of the Immortal Hulk, but if you’re looking for a quick buck or think this comic will be anything worthy of a speculation choice, you’d be hard pressed to prove its worth a year from now, or maybe a month from now.
