Here are this week’s trending comic books…

Detective Comics #1000 – Besides the obvious milestone status for this DC comic this Wednesday, it will trend for two other reasons. One, the plethora of variant covers that accompany its release and more importantly, the debut of Arkham Knight into the DC Universe. Coincidence that Marvel debuted Conan into their universe for the first time last week and now this? Probably not, but still an interesting suggestion. This said, DC will win in the long run with their re-introduction. While Conan is a bad as*, Any new bad as* Batman will topple Conan. Conan is one dimensional character while the Arkham Knight will probably prove to have a deeper-rooted background as time (story) goes on. If anyone is playing the long game here, Arkham Knight is the play. This of course barring any reason they have Conan join the Newer Avengers team in the films (phase 15 or whichever), in which case the nerds will pull for Conan. For the immediate future and beyond, Arkham Knight is the better of the two into their respective new universe’s. The trends will continue for the new Batman long after the love for Conan goes away and the speculation sites get tired of him. Go long the Arkham Knights first appearance in Arkham Knight #1.
Dial H For Hero #1 – In 1966, Dial H For Hero debuted in House of Mystery #156. A modest showing throughout the years since its inception. Now a new series debuts from writer Sam Humphries and artist Joe Quinones. Looks as though Dial H will be leveling up.
X-Force #5 – Any fan of the Marvel’s Cable will have this book on their radar this Wednesday. Writer Ed Brisson will explore the Cable character during his younger years. A “Year One” type maybe? Read about “Kid” Cable. Depending on how the story is perceived, this could trend very well and quick. Damian Couceiro art.
Spider-Man Deadpool #48 – Learn about the new villain in this comic that has brought the fourth wall back for Deadpool. Creators Robbie Thompson and Matt Horak.
Marvel Rising #1 – A new all girl team debuts. Spider-Gwen, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, America, and Squirrel Girl make up our protectors for this one. Nilah Magruder writes and Roberto Di Salvo pencils.

Here are the trending indie comics this week…

Star Bastard #1 – Looks like Scout Comics may have their “Lobo/Wolverine” type character debuting this week. A double fingered cover of our main star kind of sets the tone of what one might be getting themselves into when buying this one. As usual, look for sell outs with any Scout Comic debut (and follow-ups). Writer Andrew Clemson and artist Jethro Morales.
Neon Future #1Impact Theory LLC debuts a comic starring the world-famous DJ, Steve Aoki. It’s completely sold out. Expect Aoki fans to take to their social media and display their new purchase. Jim Krueger, Neil Edwards and Jheremy Raapack
