**Please, if you are a new reader or a regular reader of this article and have not seen or read the disclaimer, we urge you to read it (provided above).

The very first episode of Sal’s Minute Of Mediocrity has arrived! The best one minute (or so) comic book review show on the planet. As each episode is released, Sal will lasso you in like Wonder Woman and make you tell the truth! What does that have to do with the video you ask? Absolutely nothing, but he will rope you in to watch because he’s awesome and it’s only a minute (or so) of your time! Check out the first episode below!

Click the RED links or comic covers to purchase the comic on Ebay.

….With all of the female lead characters coming from Marvel (and many other publishers too) these days, they are going with a third rate character this time in Mockingbird S.H.I.E.L.D. 50th Anniversary #1. Mockingbird is not a new character by any stretch, her first appearance was 35 years ago and up until a week ago that first appearance lay in some one dollar long box. So with the recent announcement of Mockingbird getting her own spin-off television series, it will only peak the interest of her first appearance in Marvel Team-Up #95 (1980). Steven Grant writes and a Bob McLeod/Frank Miller cover help to make this a nice collectors item even when it was in the one dollar long box. Incidentally, InvestComics did mention to take a peak at Marvel Team-Up #95 back in 2009.

A sure to be sold out comic hits Wednesday; Deadpool vs. Thanos #1. There are some very funny variant covers accompanying this release. Marvel’s Figment series fared very well last time out, so Marvel will go back to the well with Figment 2 #1. A new character debuts in Dark Tower Drawing Of The Three Lady Of Shadows #1. And with the new Dark Tower movie(?) announced, this could be something to keep an eye out on.

Watch out for Silver Surfer #14 this week as Norrin Radd might be creating some new universes and or characters. He’s wielding some serious cosmic powers this days. Writer Dan Slott is bringing it.

A new villain named Gridlock makes an appearance in Bat-Mite #4.

Our friends at Cosmic Times have turned up a hot comic release this coming Wednesday. Must check out Void Of Heroes #1. Not only a fantastic dark sci-fi futuristic story, but it’s actually based on the mobile game from Tunnel Ground Inc. So you better get on this comic because it’s sold out at the distributor already.

The Batman Arkham Knight Genesis #1 comic is one of those video game comic books. All the covers look absolutely stunning. Stjepan Sejic, Jim Lee and the Incentive cover (no name listed). In which the incentive cover is the best of the bunch in our humble opinion. The introduction of the new villain; Arkham Knight! Awesome comic here.

Superman vs Deathstroke in Deathstroke #9. This looks like a fun fight! In all actuality it should last a shorter time than a Ronda Rousey fight, but we’ll read and watch anyway.

Also from Dark Horse, a critically acclaimed series gives fans a one shot; New MGMT #1Black Tiger #1 (Graphic India) is an introduction story of a new hero from creators Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan. Aquaman Checklist

NOTE: This site is BEST VIEWED on Google Chrome.

Click on any RED link or comic cover in the article to buy/bid on the comic right now. A new page will open, so you will not lose your place here.

Aquaman, seven series number one issues, two of which were limited series. None of the regular series made it past 77 issues. What does this mean exactly? Well it means that Aquaman was never a character taken very seriously. Always on the receiving end of the joke. Nowadays things are a bit different (many thanks to Geoff Johns), although the character still holds the stigma of being a lame duck in many circles, Warner Brothers will be going all in with a solo movie release. Rumor has it that he’ll first appear in the Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice first, then we’ll see the solo movie a couple of years later. It’s then we’ll see if the world is truly ready for a live action Aquaman movie.
It was writer Geoff Johns that vowed to make Aquaman a cool character. He’s achieved this feat with many naysayers saying it couldn’t be done. Now the transition to film will be the defining moment for the most powerful water character in the entire DC Universe.
Below are some key Aquaman appearances throughout the years. First appearances, number one issues, appearances in other comics, etc. Debuting from 1941, there are plenty of comics to look for here. Plenty of affordable books along the way here too.
Please remember as always here on InvestComics, read the disclaimer. With that said, there will in fact be books that are not on this list. They were probably inadvertently missed. No problem, list your favorite book below or in the comment section in one of our social media outlets. Also remember that the Aquaman movie comes out in 2018, there are no right or wrong answers here.

Aquaman Checklist
More Fun Comics #73 (1941) First appearances of Aquaman and Green Arrow. Golden Age.
Worlds Finest Comics #6 (1942) Aquaman first appears with Batman and Robin in the same comic. They are not together in the same story, Aquaman is featured in a backup.
Adventure Comics #229 (1956) First Silver Age. First appearance of Topo, Aquaman’s pet octopus.

You have one minute to spare? 60 seconds?….

Host Salvatore Antithesis with Co-Producer/Camera/Editor Brenton Noon bring an all new comic book review show like you’ve never seen before. It’s impossible to get bored or click it off because it’s only one minute long! “Sal’s Minute Of Mediocrity!” No wasted time, down time, maundering, just getting to the point. And Sal definitely knows how to do this. Watch the trailer below which last 7 seconds more than the actual show! Will Sal’s Minute Of Mediocrity! ever go over the one minute mark? Will it be by 4 seconds or 8 or less?? Will he hit the one minute spot dead on? Will the internet explode if he goes over the one minute? Will fanboys find something to complain about regarding this video and fun concept? (yes of course they will), All of these questions will be answered soon with surprises in store! So sit back, grab one junior mint, no time for a drink and watch the Exclusive 67 second new teaser trailer debuting in theaters before the new Star Wars The Force Awakens movie right here, right now! If one introduction in any of the Star Wars comics makes it to the big screen, you just paid for a few months of comics on your pull list.

Hip Hop Family Tree #1 from Fantagraphics is sold out.

Book of Death #2 – This event story line from Valiant Entertainment is all sorts of fabulous.

Archie #2 – Not as big a return as Star Wars, but the new Archie series will probably touch on a lot of introductions that will eventually appear in their movie release or television release. The relaunch of the Archie Comics line is an important one because it’s probably a direct link to anything regarding their media releases. An Archie movie or television production will be a big hit amongst the younger crowd. Not the kids, the Twillight/Harry Potter crowd. And that’s a loyal group following, which equates to popularity, which equates to money in your pocket.

The InvestComics Secret Wars #1 Comicxposure Gabriele Del Otto variant Twitter giveaway will be long over today after this article hits. Check out the InvestComics Twitter page to see who that lucky winner was. We want to thank everyone who participated. Make sure to Like and Follow all of our social media outlets as another prize pack (or two!) go up. There are some nice prizes coming up next week, stay close.

In the news department! We have one of those? Yes yes, in the east wing, near the pool.

Chewie said this was happening, maybe we misunderstood. Hard to catch everything he says sometimes.

Let’s hit some of the comics heading our way this Wednesday……

IDW brings an all new Turtle title to alluring fans. Check out the all ages Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Amazing Adventures #1.

Guardians Team Up #10 features the first appearance of The Drakillars.

Howard the Human #1 makes us scratch our head. Not sure what to expect here, but the title sure isn’t very appealing. But it’s written by Scottie Young. Let’s see where this goes.

House of M #1 will be a good read. Comes with lots and lots of variants. Why exactly? We must have missed the memo.

Marvel is really pushing that female readership envelope aren’t they? Almost every single new hero these days is a female one, previous male heroes are now women and now this Wednesday Secret Wars Secret Love #1 arrives. Nothing at all wrong with reaching an audience (making more money), just that a romance comic might be a bit too soon. Seems all forced here, as though they have to cater to an audience that is not within their demo. Don’t force the issue with reaching a target audience, let it happen on its own with product selling itself. If it does pop then great, if it doesn’t, well it doesn’t. It all seems a bit contrived sometimes.

A new foe (maybe) and a new artist (Stuart Immonen) on Star Wars #8 this Wednesday. A few variants available here. The sketch variant is sold out. Remember InvestComics’ word on all Star Wars books. Buy them.

Skull The Slayer makes an appearance in Weirdworld #3. He first appeared in Skull The Slayer #1 (1975). What a fantastic Bronze Age affordable book to own. Written by Marv Wolfman, pencils by Steve Gan and cover art by Gil Kane and Al Milgrom.

Archie #2 has a huge selection of variant covers to choose from this coming week. Did we miss another memo? Anyway, the regular Fiona Staples cover absolutely kicks major butt.

Hip Hop Family Tree #1 from Fantagraphics is sold out. Welcome Back #1 from Boom Studios is a definite read.

How does Diamond calculate the charts? It all starts at the comic book shop.

Data for Diamond’s sales charts — which includes the monthly market shares and all top product charts — are compiled by Diamond Comic Distributors from sales made to thousands of comic book specialty shops located in North America and around the world. Additional sales made to online merchants and other specialty retailers may be included as well.

Unit and dollar market shares are calculated based upon orders for comic books, graphic novels, and magazines invoiced and shipped to Diamond customers during any given month, which comprises pre-orders, advance reorders, and reorders, minus any copies that are received back from a title marked as returnable. Please note that comics marked with an asterisk (*) have had their reported quantities reduced due to retailer returnability, and thus may rank lower on the charts than their actual sales would reflect.

The New Titles Count Chart includes all titles that were invoiced by Diamond to retailers for the first time during the month and is not the official solicited title count for the month. Variant edition comic books and graphic novels at the same price point count as a single SKU. Variant edition comic books, lenticular covers, digital combo packs, and graphic novels at different price points count as separate SKUs for each edition.

A potentially light week as far as the speculation side goes, plenty of great reading ahead. Although there is one speculation comic that will make up for the entire week this Wednesday…..

There will not be a bigger book this week. Batman #43 is where it’s at. Guarantee it. No way. Scott Synder and Greg Capullo introduce a new villain into Batman’s life this Wednesday, Mr. Bloom. We all know what happens when these two creative minds get together within these pages right? The villain is right there on the cover too. No cameo, little panel, a hand, no this dude is right there in plain sight. Although there are two other variants, the Mr. Bloom cover makes for an attractive collectors piece. He only graces the regular cover and not the others. A better resell with the character on the cover like that. Bottom line here, Mr. Bloom will be blooming in the aftermarket on Wednesday and thereafter. A seriously big book this week.

Superman may have the same scenario brewing. DC says Superman faces a new threat lurking in the shadows in Action Comics #43. Let’s all read and find out who or what it is. And the same holds for Starfire #3. A new character appearance could be in here. The Darwyn Cooke variant is sold out too. The Inhumans movie will be arriving in 2019. By then, Infinity War part II will have hit the screen. A question one may ask here is, will the Inhumans pick up where the Avengers movies cease? Short answer, probably yes. Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man (additions Wasp, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Vision) will fill in the new Avengers team roster after the current team is dismantled in Infinity War I & II. The Avengers can and will continue with an all new lineup one day, but until then, the Inhumans will probably take the mantle for a while. It makes total sense here. Some of the Avenger stars have become way too big for their roles, commanding more money and are also getting “older” as the series progresses. Remember when the phase just started? Chris Evans? Chris Hemsworth? Scarlett Johansson? Robert Downey Jr.? And the list goes on. No one really knew if any of this would work. It did. Now that “it did” and the success has and will run its course, ending with Infinity War II (2019), the only logical monetary thing to do is…..start over. Enter the Inhumans.

Since we all know that Marvel does not own the rights to the X-Men, this will be their workaround. Their version of the X-Men and come hell or high water, Marvel will make this work. Just to drive home a point that they don’t need the X-Men, they have the Inhumans.

It’s all going to start the same way it all began back in 2008 with Robert Downey Jr. Get that name everyone recognizes and get it to work. So with the Inhumans, the character that needs to be front/center and to work is Black Bolt. He’s the leader of the Inhumans. The King of Attilan. Who will be chosen to lead the way to another successful 11 year (more or less) run? Black Bolt will be the next “Tony Stark” because of the lead in to introduce the next phase. The character (the team) will play an intricate role in setting the table for everyone to follow.

The Avengers Infinity War parts I & II will probably (most likely) end many of the Marvel on screen careers. Our favorite characters will be gone. Marvel will set a new precedence in offing characters at a ridiculous clip. The reality is, Robert, Chris, Scarlett, Jeremy and all the others who have been around these movies for years are going to move on eventually to other roles other than superheroes. What better way to add finality to an unprecedented run than sending our heroes to sacrifice themselves against the greatest threat the planet and universe has ever seen, Thanos. Do not kid yourselves, there will be many deaths in the Infinity War parts I & II. In actuality, there has to be. The stadium is over capacity. There has to be closure so that the new blood can come in. That new blood being the Inhumans.

So in 2019, it’s all going to come to a head. 11 years to arrive to the greatest battle of all time. The greatest battle in cinema since dad and son went at it with their Lightsabers. It’s going to take every character fans have seen throughout the years and mash them into two movies. The Avengers cannot and will not defeat Thanos alone. Not happening. The Avengers, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Winter Solider, Loki, Spider-Man, Warlock and so many more will probably appear in both films. Most will not make it to the next phase.

The comic book speculator has four years to compile their Inhumans comics library. What InvestComics has given the speculative community throughout our ten years is the ability to buy low and….sell high. This checklist is just that. Some of these books are movers right now, but their value in four years time will be immensely different. Tremendous upside here. Yes the first appearance of the Inhumans might be a bit pricey now, but it will not be anywhere near as close to the price it is now when 2019 rolls around. Think big. Think X-Men #1 (1963) or Giant Size X-Men #1 (1975). Marvel Studios’ version of the X-Men will become the next big franchise, do not miss this boat. Inhumans will be huge.

Most of these books if not all of them are extremely affordable…..for now. As time beckons, as news breaks, as announcements are made, as villains are cast, as the Infinity War movie starts coming into light, the Inhumans will become more and more of a household name and you will be very late to the party if you put things on hold until then. Be sure to thank InvestComics for throwing this early party now when the time comes.

As always, there will be missed books within the checklist below. We’re Inhuman, Ha! See what we did there?! There are many books listed. All kinds of first appearances, key issues and cool books in general. We simply do not know what the Inhumans movie will bring, so we tried to cover as many bases as possible for the speculator. If you have a comic you’d like to add, please help the fellow speculators in listing it below in the comment section. AND PLEASE READ THE DISCLAIMER on this site.

Fantastic Four #36 (1965) The first appearance of Medusa. Black Bolt’s main squeeze. Brought to us by the creative team of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott.

Fantastic Four #45 (1965) First appearance of Black Bolt (cameo) and the first appearance of the Inhumans team. Lee, Kirby and Sinnott. A must own comic if you are truly in the speculative market. This comic also serves as the first appearances of Triton and Karnak. Must own.

Fantastic Four #46 (1966) First full appearance of Black Bolt. His first cover as well. Same creative team as the previous issues and the same speculative rules apply as well. A must own here.

Fantastic Four #47 (1966) Every hero needs an adversary. A sibling at that. In this issue, Black Bolt’s insane brother makes his debut; Maximus. This comic also has the first mention and appearance of the land called Attilan.

Thor #148 (1968) The first of three consecutive, most desirable comics to own (besides the first appearance) if one is collecting key Black Bolt books. The origin of Black Bolt starts here (in a backup story). Still very affordable right now, but this will in fact change. This is also the first appearance of the Wrecker. An absolute non-factor because this comic will triple in value in a few years because of the Black Bolt origin, not because of the Wrecker. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee.

Thor #149 (1968) The continuation of Black Bolt’s origin. Must own.

Thor #150 (1968) The Inhumans origin. Must own.

Marvel Super-Heroes #15 (1968) First solo Medusa story. Black Bolt appearance.

Avengers #95 (1972) Another important comic because of the Marvel cinematic universe. It’s going to take more than just the Avengers team to defeat Thanos in Infinity Wars parts I and II. Will the Inhumans join in the fight along side the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy? Maybe. Maybe not, but this comic here is the first Avengers book the Inhumans appear in. Neal Adams art, Roy Thomas writes and John Buscema provides the cover. It’s also an origin story on Black Bolt and Maximus. Another must buy here.

Iron Man #57 (1973) Black Bolt/Inhumans first appear in an Iron Man book.
