Timberland Does It Again and This Time Better Than Ever.

First of all, I want to confirm that Linkin Park did not
make the collaboration list for Shock Value II…I’m a bit upset about that
because it was one of my top reasons to buy it. I remember a few months back
when the album was bubbling underneath the surface, Linkin Park was said to be
working with Timbaland on both of their Wikipedia pages but all of a sudden, that
information is gone. The only thing close to them working together is the time
Timbaland did an intro for Linkin Park’s "Bleed It Out" at the 2007
MTV Video Music Awards. I know Timbaland thought about there and if you ask me, I think they’re keeping information scarce
for Shock Value III. But until than, let’s see if Shock Value II does what it’s
titled to give.

Well, I rarely do this but it seems I’m going to have to
write a review for every track. Yes, Timbaland has done it again and better than
ever-Shock Value II has everything the original didn’t and one of those is most importantly
the "Shock Value" it claimed. I’m upset that the sequel isn’t
anticipated as the first was with singles, "Give It to Me", "The Way I
Are" and "Apologize"-"Morning After Dark" hasn’t put a dent in the Billboard charts yet! But while
Timbaland has yet to

release a single that’ll attract appreciation it
deserves, I’m proud to say as a hardcore fan of Timbo, Shock Value II is good as his
debut, "Tim’s Bio".

1. Intro

Release this beat in full, Timbo-it’s hot! This intro
makes you feel more welcome into Shock Value II than the original did with "Oh,
Timbaland". DJ Felli Fell says, "Now, Tim told me he wanted an intro but you
know…with some sh-t like this, you

don’t really need an intro!" He’s right the album
still would have pleased listeners as I am but good choice.

2. Carry Out ft.
Justin Timberlake

Shock Value II carries us in with "Carry Out".
As most of you all know, Timbaland and Timberlake are a dynamic duo and this song is no
exception. Timbaland also has a song he did with Justin called, "Crazy Girl"
that didn’t make the cut and sometimes I feel it would have took the album an extra step if it
replaced this but it’s no disappointment.

3. Lose Control
ft. JoJo

I was surprised to hear grown JoJo on this track…actually,
to hear her at all on Shock Value II! This track is a good and catchy though I
wouldn’t say it’s single quality-it’s just another piece of proof odd couples can
be proven even with Timbaland in the picture.

4. Meet In the
Middle ft. Bran’ Nu (Brandy)

Brandy raps. That’s right, the "I Wanna Be
Down" Brandy raps with Timbo on "Meet In the Middle" and I have to say she does it well! I
believe this is one of the top
memorable
moments of the album. Be sure to experience this beat on good
speakers-whoever says Timbaland lost his edge in Hip-Hop
is a fool.

5. Say Something
ft. Drake

A good R&B track featuring one of the hopes for it’s
future. What I liked most about this song is that it proves Timbo’s strategy to work with
new promising artists works. I feel Drake was a good choice for a new debut
artist on Shock Value II and as the second single.

6. Tomorrow In a
Bottle ft. Chad Kroeger & Sebastian

Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger-can you believe it? Yet again,
Timbo has an ability to turn doubters into believers. I personally feel him just
being on the chorus was a wise decision if anything at all but he puts it down
along with Sebastian.

Also, if you aren’t familiar with Sebastian, you should
know he’s Timbalands younger brother and has been on loads of songs since 2000 and
will be releasing his debut album soon…did I mention Timbaland’s his brother?

7. We Belong to
the Music ft. Miley Cyrus

I don’t know about you but I saw this collaboration miles
away-especially when she honored him and attended his pre-Grammy party. The album
will have great commercial

success with this track with teenagers buying it just for
this reason and Timbo will attract a whole new crowd with this track. By the way,
this is also the reason the album (though only a couple of songs have curses) is
cleaner than the original Shock

Value but it’s no big deal. "We Belong to the
Music" it ranks #2 as one of the catchiest tracks on the album.

8. Morning After
Dark ft. SoShy and Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado doesn’t belong on this track-I love her but
she seems thrown on the track just to give the album’s first single some
familiarity (which is obviously the case since it was originally recorded with SoShy). This
song would’ve been gold if

she wasn’t on this song or had a different approached
verse. Otherwise, the song was a perfect pick for starting the hype for Shock Value II.

9. If We Ever Meet
Again ft. Katy Perry

"I Kissed a Girl" Katy Perry makes this a radio
success if a single but I don’t like it as much as it was speculated to be. I’d put it behind
"We Belong to the Music" as catchiest. The beat is a win and it’s conclusion with
Sebastian makes it epic.

10. Can You Feel
It ft. Esthero

This is my favorite track off the album and I’d say it’s
"The Way I Are" of Shock Value II. It’s the catchiest song on the album and it
deserves to be a single in my opinion.
Both Timbaland and Esthero sings on this album and Sebastian again concludes with a ending beat that makes you say,
‘Yeah-this would makes the clubs go crazy’.

11. Ease of The
Liquor

Another good club record off the album-be sure to hear
this on good speakers and you’d be lucky to in the club somewhere.

12. Undertow ft.
The Fray

Finally the album gets mellow on this track-it reminds me
of OneRepublic’s success with Timbaland. I like this song a lot because it’s one
of the most different than what Tim usually would produce and do it well.

13. Timothy (Where
Have You Been)" ft. Jet

Jet? Cool. Tim? Cool. The chill-out mood to this track?
Ice cold. Tim rapping? Better than usual and in fact; this album has him rapping
better than he has ever did in his career! That’s good compliment because he’s a
producer-what can you say other than he can be catchy at times? On this song, Tim
raps his legacy of his successful career towards the Aaliyah era to now. If
you’re an aid fan like me, you’ll really appreciate "Timothy (Where Have You
Been)"

14. Long Way Down
ft Daughtry

An awesome rock track-I find this superior than Timbo’s
collabration with Fall Out Boy’s "One and Only". It seems Daughtry said
they should do their next album with

Timbaland. Now, I’m all about moving forward and having
an open mind for trying out different styles but they are good as they are though I’d
be lying if I said I wouldn’t want it to happen…at least once. I’ll prepare
for the foul cries of their

fans like Chris Cornell’s work with Timbaland on his
album, "Scream".

15. Marchin’ On
(Remix)

OneRepublic is welcoming Timbaland back for a remix and
though I don’t think this will be as huge as "Apologize" if released as a
single, Timbo’s drums sound great while it’s just a plus for an already good song.

16. The One I Love
(Maniac) ft. Keri Hilson & D.O.E.

Chris Brown’s originally was featured with additional
vocals but him and Timbaland agreed to scrap the them while changing the title to
"The One I Love". I’m sure you can figure out how and why this went down but the song
still delivers while I wish

Chris Brown was still on it.

17. Symphony ft.
D.O.E., Bran’ Nu (Brandy) & Attitude

Finally,
Shock Value concludes with a "Symphony". Though I would’ve like to
hear

Bubba Sparxx on this track, D.O.E. broke it’s bones,
Brandy killed it (for no reason!) and Attitude did an overkill.

Shock Value II shows the peak of Timbaland and he can
only go higher. But this isn’t over-there’s a deluxe edition of Shock Value with scarce
collaboration bonus tracks. I’ll be reviewing it so this is only Pt. 1 so stay alert
for my review for it! Be sure to buy Shock Value II in stores December 8th!
Congratulations, Timbaland!
