dvozzo2.gif1.What are you working on (creatively) right now?

Well, I’ve been having a lot of fun working on Jack of Fables, which is published monthly by DC/Vertigo. After working on Fables for a while, I made the jump to JOF around three years ago. I’ve also been working on an issue of Kolchak : The Night Stalker, published by Moonstone Comics, and just finished up with a short story
which will be included in an upcoming JSA 80pg. Special, also for DC Comics.

2.If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be?

The power of healing would be nice. It would be amazing to be able to place one’s hand on someone and heal their wounds, illnesses or emotional pain. A more traditional superpower would be to fly. I really can’t deal with traffic anymore.

3.Do you have a routine that you follow before or during work?

Not much. Other than trying to get all of the days calls and chores done up before sitting down to work. It’s a lot less stressful when you don’t have to stop in themiddle of working to run out to do errands.

4.Who is your favorite creator to work with?

That’s impossible for me to answer. I’ve been fortunate to work on many fun titlesand projects throughout the years with very special and talented people. I wouldhave to list at least a couple dozen names if I did have to list them. All from thewriting, penciling, inking, and lettering ends of it.

5.In your opinion, do you feel that the movie industry is doing a good job with the
Comic Book movies?

Yes, I do. Of course, not with every movie, but there has definitely been a bigimprovement over the last ten to fifteen years in the production of comic bookrelated movies.

6.What comic book hero/villain do you want to see on screen?

I think that maybe a Shade, the Changing Man would make a good movie. I’d also behappy to see one of my all-time favorite characters, The Vision, somehow make itinto an Avengers movie. And Vampire flicks seem to be hot these days, so a Morbiusthe living vampire movie could be amazing!

7.Which part of your job do you find most stressful?

Definitely, extremely tight deadlines. It’s not always the case, but when there is a tight deadline, I truly believe that the most pressure is on the shoulders of the colorist. He/she is the one in which a job is passed onto, before it has to get to the printer on time.

dvozzo3.gif8.What will the future bring from Daniel Vozzo?

Well, I’ve been having a lot of fun writing these days. So I have high hopes thatsome of my writings may one day get to be published. Who knows? Maybe something ofmine will end up on the big screen? (lol)

9. “My best Investment in life was…….”

I’d have to say deciding to work at home throughout the years, so I could be closeby to my daughter while growing up. I’ve passed up on some opportunities in thepast, and it’s not always as easy working from home as some people think. Butgetting to see her grow up has been worth it. She is an artist in her own right, andI’m proud of the individual that she has become.

10. Have anything you’d like to plug?

Other than letting people know that they should really run, not walk, to purchase Jack of Fables every month, they should continue to purchase any or all four volumes of The Absolute Sandman, which make amazing gifts for the holidays. Also, I’m always looking for new titles to work on, so keep an eye out for newer projects that will be coming around from DC/Vertigo for 2010.
