Here’s the latest installment of long lost since forgotten comic books. Many of these comics are simply not spoken of anymore and SOME of these have no monetary value in the speculative market but do have a place in our hearts. Great stories and amazing creative talents accompany most of these books. Into the abyss, these comics have gone, but here they are once again. Buy them, read them, they’re fun.

Star Brand #1 (1986) Here’s a series that went nowhere fast. So fast in fact that issue number 19 was the last issue ; “number 19 in a 19 issue limited series.” Really?? Okay. This happened with almost all of the other titles as well when it came to Marvel’s New Universe imprint. Most say “#32 of a 32 issue Limited Series.” on the top of the book. No lie, true story. But even the creative firepower couldn’t save this series from its ultimate demise. John Romita Jr. does most of the art and a cover or two for about the first seven issues. Writer Roy Thomas on issue number seven, Keith Giffen art in issue number 9 with a Bob Wiacek cover, issue number ten features Mark Bagley Pencils, and then legend John Byrne takes over art and writing duties as of issue number eleven. And good luck finding that scarce last issue too.

Union Jack #1 (1998) Union Jack’s first solo series comic. Writer/artist and cover all by John Cassaday. When will a UK based character break out anyway? It will happen eventually (as InvestComics has said a while back), but here you have a great 3 part mini-series to read. One of the cool things about the Marvel Comics cover with issue number one is the wording “The Walking Dead”. That’s five years before the Kirkman book. Speaking of which…….

The Walking Dead #1 (1989) Are you aware there was a Walking Dead comic out 14 years prior to Kirkman’s Walking Dead? A four-issue zombie horror comic. If you were, kudos to you. If not, now you’re in the know. The Walking Dead #1 from 1989 was put out by Aircel Comics and created by Jim Somerville. Issue number 3 features a Dale Keown cover! Sweet. Good luck finding any of these comics at your local shop.

Black Orchid (1988) Critically acclaimed 3 part series by artist Dave Mckean and writer Neil Gaiman.

Blade Runner (1982) With all of the talking going on regarding another Blade Runner movie, wouldn’t it be cool to get this comic in a 50 cent bin and have it signed/graded by Harrison Ford? A nice collector’s item indeed. You’re welcome.
