InvestComics Hot Picks – New Release Comics on 6/11/14

45523_20060706171832_large 60519_20061024153042_largeThere are a total of thirteen plus number one comics to touch on this week. Out of the thirteen, only two are emerging as victors in the sold out department. Check out Red City (2014) #1 and Wildfire (2014 Image) #1. Both from…..you guessed it, Image Comics. So without question, these comics are on the must list for the speculator this week. Avatar Press’ Dicks End of Time #1 is on the verge of a sell out too. The crazy variant looks like it will go first before the regular cover.

Other number one issues to not sleep on; Image Comics’ That’s Because You’re a Robot (2014) #1. This comic looks like a fun interesting ride. The number one selling mobile app ever gets its own comic book; Angry Birds Comics (2014) #1. Will the status of being the app champion equate to dominate within the comic book genre? This investor doesn’t see it, but I have been wrong before and stranger things have happened.

The new Amazing Spider-Man (2014 3rd Series) #1.2 will focus on a new character named Clash.

Valiant’s first ever huge crossover event will officially begin in Armor Hunters (2014 Valiant) #1. With top notch creators Doug Braithwaite and Robert Venditti at the helm, look for a fantastic story with awesome artwork and some sell outs along the way.

89332_20070411185021_large 1867184A dark new epic comic comes from Dynamite this week; Blood Queen (2014 Dynamite) #1. This number one issue is showing some nice sales thus far. The Ale Garza variant is a nice one too. Check it out in the gallery here.

The Godzilla movie has created a buzz. The craze seems to have spilled over to the comic book lure a bit. IDW showing some very strong sales on Godzilla The IDW Era (2014 IDW) #1. Look for a possible second print on that one shortly.

DC Comics releases Infinity Man and the Forever People (2014) #1 this Wednesday. A good story line and some good character development may push this series to a heighten interest. Infinity Man and the Forever People first appeared courtesy of the legend himself Jack “King” Kirby in Forever People #1 (1971). Although one member of Forever People did first appear in the 1988 Forever People #1, that being Maya. Always a wise decision to get first appearances from the legend Jack “King” Kirby. Nuff said.

ScreenHunter_374 Jun. 06 21.35 ScreenHunter_374 Jun. 06 21.33A few weeks ago InvestComics alerted all speculators that IF, that’s IF the hand to hand combat comics were to take off that Shang-Chi would be a good place to start hoarding. This Wednesday in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu (2014) #2 The Daughters of The Dragon make an appearance. Probably no big deal, but their first appearance however is. Check out The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #32 from 1977. In there you will find a short story introducing “The Daughters” written by Chris Claremont. How cool is that? The guidelines that applied to Jack Kirby earlier applies here too.

While we’re on topic talking about first appearances, check out X (2013 Dark Horse) #14. Not only does InvestComics endorse this comic as a comic to keep an eye on, but the new issue will bring a “game changing” villain to the fray. Keep the X close to the vest. It may breakout one day. I went on extensively about the potential of X back in April 2013 (InvestComics Hot Picks #264) and in May of 2013 (InvestComics Hot Picks #268). Click either one of the red links to check it out. Very high on the character back then, still am.

1880891Rounding out the week; Empty Man (2014) #1. Mr. “Sixth Gun” himself Cullen Bunn brings this new series to Boom Studios. Disney character gets its own series; Figment (2014) #1. Bravest Warriors Impossibear Special (2014) #1 from Boom Studios looks like a fun time.

Invest wisely. Carpe Diem.
