In 2014, InvestComics made a lot of speculators very happy with more money in their pockets. Not only did we accomplish that, we covered a record 14 comic conventions as press (tons of video and photo coverage throughout the site and Youtube), had articles appear on Yahoo!, started the first and only weekly top ten comic book list on BuzzFeed, Interviewed some cool talents like; Alex Segura (Vice President publicity/marketing of Archie Comics), Promoter of the Connecuit ComiConn Mitchell Hallock, Coo of Vet-Tix Eddie Rausch, Exclusive Producer Bernadette McDaid; Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman, and Michael D’Alessio of Atlantic City Broadwalk Con. Our New York Comic Con 4 Day Ticket giveaway contest was a big success too.

All and all a huge year for InvestComics. Lots more was covered, but I simply cannot list it all. If you’re a follower of InvestComics, you know how we roll. Look for us to expand in 2015 in several areas. It’s going to be awesome!

A big big thank you all that have supported us throughout the year. It’s been our pleasure to put a smile on your face and some extra loot in your pockets. Remember to always have fun and to invest wisely.

If I have left anyone off the thank you list, it is completely unintentional and I truly apologize. I will shout you out on Facebook if you let me know!

An extremely light week hit the Hot Picks. Everyone wants to start their New Years early!

Shield_InvestComics (4) Shield_InvestComics (1)S.H.I.E.L.D. Will try its fourth attempt at an ongoing series this Wednesday. This speculator does not see the series lasting very long, but we’ll see. The television series right now is the reason for propelling the new title out. The television series has showed some weakness in the past and will not last that long either. We’ll see about that one too. Not saying the series or the comic are in no way worthy, but the comic is only here because of the television show. The new comic series will probably outlast the TV series. Shield (2014 Marvel) 4th Series #1 will have a plethora of variants accompanying it. We stopped counting after ten. Ridiculous yes we agree. One variant in particular has some ears pointed up is the Deadpool party sketch variant by John Tyler Christopher. This $200 variant is sold out. It might be a nice variant to have in ones arsenal when the Deadpool movie rolls around. Signed and graded (9.8 or higher of course). If you don’t want to go that high with your cash, how about the awesome $20 Mike Deodato Jr variant? This comic probably won’t command very much money in the long run, but a nice variant by Mikey nonetheless.

Since most comic companies won’t be releasing most of their regular titles this week, they are going overboard with the variant. Shield case in point number one. Case in point number two is East Of West #16. This successful Image title will give readers a special oversize issue starting the new major story line in it. At last count, nine variant covers here. Is this necessary? The best part for East of West fans here is the Jamie McKelvie variant comes in at only $15. The rest of the variants are regular price.

East_of_West_InvestComics (1) East_of_West_InvestComics (2)Miracleman for Marvel hasn’t gone exactly according to plan as far as demand and clamoring goes. No one is really talking about this book right? Anyway, All New Miracleman Annual (2014) #1 will feature artwork from Joe Quesada and that is always a get. The eye candy this dude creates is unbelievable.

One can always count on IDW to come up with a crazy awesome team-up. To end the year they’ll give us Star Trek Planet of the Apes (2014 IDW) #1. No words to say here except that there is an awesome George Perez cover to check out too.

Thank you all. From the entire InvestComics team we wish you a happy and safe New Year.

Invest wisely. Carpe Diem.
