(Click the RED and buy or bid on your comic now)

DC Comics have announced their plans to end the New 52 and begin Divergence. The epic Divergence storyline will center on Darkseid. InvestComics covered Darkseid with a tremendous checklist that needs to be seen right HERE. Do yourself a favor and go there now. We posted the link on our Facebook page already and there was a great response to an already great article from 2013! The links on the Darkseid checklist link directly back to Ebay so that you can get those appearances in Legion of Super-Heroes, Batman and a bunch more at very affordable prices. Still not heading over there? How about a Darkseid appearance in a Batman book that only occurred ONCE?! And it’s a modern book. A cheap one at that…….for now! Better get over there before those Bat books are gone off Ebay. Remember, click the link and save the time of searching. InvestComics has already done it for you!

There are a few takeaways that speculators need to be aware of with the DC news. With the Divergence announcement came the first mention of some new series’ to emerge. There are a few standouts and InvestComics has your back here……

Starfire will be HOT. Amanda Connor and Jimmy Palmiotti will bring Starfire to the next level. Aftermarket happiness here. How about you jump on a few of these first appearances of Starfire? How about the very very affordable Silver Age first appearance in Teen Titans #18 (1968). Although it’s not really the same Starfire we all know and love, but who cares?!  Starfire #1 from 1976; Starfire #1. How about DC Comics Presents #26 (1980)? This is the first New Teen Titans, Cyborg, Raven and Starfire. This comic should have been in you collection 7 years ago when InvestComics told you about it, but we’re just saying. New 52 first right here; Red Hood and the Outlaws #11 (2011). We cannot stress this enough, Starfire is an uptick. That’s it.

Prez #1 will debut and you need to click this and buy it: Prez #1 (1973).

The awesome Omega Men will debut with their book. Get a comic that has been suggested several times over the years on InvestComics; Green Lantern #141 (1981). Only a few copies exist right now on Ebay. You should click that link and make sure they don’t go bye bye. Also check out the awesome Omega Men #1 (1983) because it was a great series and that book will also garner some attention soon. Plenty of copies available as great prices, click away and buy it.

And finally, how about Bat-Mite #1? Yep! We’ll take it! His first appearance is right here in the Golden age Detective Comics #267 (1959).

Plenty of great reads and speculative comics to choose from this week. Be sure to click the RED links when we are talking about comics to pick up. The Red link will bounce you right over to Ebay so that the reader/speculator can either bid or buy it right there on the spot. So if your local comic shop is sold out of a particular book or didn’t order that InvestComics Hot Pick, now you can get it without a problem. Well presuming it’s not so super hot already and you get outbid! That’s why sometimes it’s best to hit the buy it now option and be done with it. Be sure to click on those links because some of the recommendations go fast. There only may be 4 or 5 copies available and they go fast! Last week we told you about New Zodiax #1 and the four copies that were available at that time at cover price were scoped up. They are now going for at least $10 a piece. Grant Morrison’s Nameless #1 was a sell out and a local comic shop has a $10 price tag with a sign “one per customer”. The link here directs you to many of the regular issues at cover price still. The variants? Well those are within the $10 range. The Wytches #4 Babs Tarr variant is still available, but you better get your hands on this one before too long.

Darth_Vader_1_InvestComicsDivinity_1_InvestComicsA little while ago the Marvel Star Wars craze hit. It hit hard too. So hard that Marvel has announced a second printing of one of the biggest selling comics in a long while. So what does this all mean in the real world. The comic book world that is. Well for one, the Star Wars story was great, so that was a good thing! In the speculative world? ……..I will go Latino here; “no bueno”. For those of you who failed Spanish class, skipped it or didn’t take it at all, “no bueno” means “no good”. Simply put here, there are too many copies of Star Wars #1 to ever hold it’s value. There is absolutely no redeeming value, other than a good read that will let that book hold its current worth. I already explained this a bit when the comic was about to be released. There are no first appearances, no movie tie-ins, no revelation, just a good read. This said, unless you get a special Star Wars #1 blank cover sketch that is a one of a kind, then you have……well a one of a kind! This will sustain its core value because of the one of a kind factor. Getting a 1:500 ratio comic means that you and a whole lot of other collectors have that book believe it or not. Considering how many regular copies there are in total, yes there are a lot out there, but more people still possess the same exact book as you do. Nothing different, same book. A Star Wars #1 sketch cover done by anyone is a one of a kind. Never the same anywhere. Can’t be, it’s actually impossible. Like a snow flake.

Now we arrive to the second phase of Marvel and their new Star Wars toy. Marvel will go with the biggest bad ass of all time. Darth Vader #1 will see a ridiculous amount of variant covers just like Star Wars #1 did. They same applies here as did/does the Star Wars issues. If you’re in the market to cash in, you better get your variants and flip them quick. Put those signed/graded copies on a fast track and throw them on Ebay. Do not fall in love with your signed/graded copy thinking that your kids will reep any benefits later on in life. This will simply not happen with this comic. One factor would help the cause and that is the same that would have applied to Star Wars #1 but doesn’t. A first appearance, a movie tie-in or a major revelation. Otherwise you have a Darth Vader #1 that is just a great story here. Nothing wrong with that either! Get the variants because you enjoy them. You enjoy that cover because it strikes a cord in you. Art is subjective, what you may like someone else may not and that too is okay. Buy what YOU like, but do not go in thinking you will have a major spec book on your hands 10 years from now. Not Happening. That all said, there are some amazingly sick covers. Click the Vader links and check them out!

InvestComics has been saying this for months and months, get Spider-Verse comics. This week it’s all over. The best Spider-Man story to come out in years will end in Amazing Spider-Man #14. How will it all end? Will there be even MORE introductions of new Spidey characters? A re-introduction? Who knows how it will end?! This was a fantastic series and we all hate to see it end, but we wait with baited breath to see how it will tie up. And check out some of the variants on the link. Sweet!

Every end has a beginning right? Spider-Woman #4 will be a Spider-Verse epilogue. Seems Spider-Woman came out of the Spider-Verse with some major changes. Best keep an eye out to see what is going on.

Divinity #1 looks like a hit for Valiant comics. Empty #1 form Image Comics looks every bit as full as its title suggests otherwise. Only 4 copies floating on Ebay right now. Click the link if you want it now. InvestComics has always supported Action Lab Entertainment with its fun reads and this week we support Priceless Pirate Princess #1. No copies available on Ebay right now. Harvester #1 from Legendary Comics looks like a good read.

….And just in time for Valentines Day; Harley Quinn Valentines Day Special #1. This comic is showing some decent signs of uptick on Ebay. Best get in there and take a look!

Remember to click the RED links to get right onto Ebay. InvestComics does the work for you!

Invest wisely. Read comics.

Carpe Diem.
