DC’s New Age Of Heroes continues this week with a new debut; Sideways #1. This particular character, as every single “New Age Hero” from this line, resembles yet another Marvel character. Sideways looks strikingly similar to Spider-Man. NOT saying this comic is DC’s Spider-Man comic and that Derek James will be bitten by a sideways insect, just looking at the surface here. Breathe fanboys, breathe. The lead character is a high schooler though! The DC solicit says “….with that much power comes great liability….”. A New York City backdrop on the cover…hmmm…um okay. The premise (powers) of leaping from dimension to dimension at will creates the excitement that we won’t be sitting in one place too long as a reader, which is always a good thing. Dan DiDio and Justin Jordan write, Kenneth Rocafort pencils. We’re so on board with this comic, so is our 10-year-old YouTube comic book reviewer Jason Katz.
New Super-Man And The Justice League Of China #20 will start off a new story line “Seas of Change” and will debut a new character.
‘Hacked” part on in Suicide Squad #35. The villain known as Hack returns. First appeared in Suicide Squad #2 (2016).
Things are looking very bleak on the cover of Titans #20. Check out “Titans Apart” part one by Dan Abnett and Paul Pelletier.

Kick-Ass #1
Ms Marvel #27

Promethea makes her DC Comics Universe debut in Justice League Of America #24 this Wednesday. Formally an America’s Best Comics creation from Alan Moore. It was quite amusing reading all of the fanboy/nerd comments when DC showed off the cover art as it was revealed that Promethea was arriving into the fold of the DCU. Comic book fans could care less as life went on for them, but it was the “others” who were severally distraught over learning of DC’s move here. Well, Alan Moore was probably irked, so the fanboy/nerd had to tag along and act accordingly to try and fit in. Seriously, calm down. It’s DC’s property and they can feel fit to do whatever the heck they want with it. It’s comic books, not the Declaration of Independence. Relax. That all said, if you’re in the market for a good read, check out the original 32 issue series from 1999. Promethea #1 is the first appearance. Last sold on Ebay for about $15.
General Thrawn of Star Wars makes his Marvel Universe debut this week in Star Wars Thrawn #1. We think. Maybe he appeared in some other Marvel Star Wars book we’re not aware of. Maybe in the background on some monitor or a cell phone photo, who knows? These speculators are so desperate to  be the first to correct us or find that first appearance on a cereal box on some panel, so that’s why we’re leaving the door ajar a bit asking if this is indeed his Marvel Comics debut. Anyway, we can tell you that General Thrawn first appeared in a Star Wars Galaxy Magazine #5 in 1995 (Topps Comics). His first “comic book” appearance came in Star Wars: Heir To The Empire #1 (1995) from Dark Horse Comics. If you feel compelled to not recognize any of that banter as the first appearance, then this book here is the first Marvel Universe appearance. If that really means anything at all really. What really matters though are creators Jody Houser and Luke Ross bringing some great story telling.
Ms. Marvel #27, the debut of the Ms. Marvels team? No seriously, take a look.
In the “just saying” department, the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl solicits are the most pretentious, annoying, try-to-hard to sell a comic, drub you can read every month. Always a long diatribe, explaining and trying to be quirky. Stop already. Just sell the book without the added nonsense, sheesh. Okay, just saying rant over. Onward we go….

InvestComics Indie Hot Picks; Indie comics do not always show up on Ebay right way. Please check back on a regular basis, some of the smaller print indie books usually list after new comic book release day or a few days after.
What a long fun ride its’ been for Robert Kirkman’s Invincible character. Making his cameo in Noble Causes Family Secrets #3 (2002) and then his first full appearance in Invincible #1 (2003). A fifteen-year run is an amazing feat. Kudos to Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley and the Image Comics/Skybound team as Invincible #144 will be the last issue this Wednesday. Now onto the small screen or the big screen, animated or live action, we’ll see.
Kick-Ass #1 begins anew once again. Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. are back at the helm to bring readers the mayhem they come to expect. A new Kick-Ass vigilante makes their debut, be sure to check out who it is. Is it someone we may know already or is it someone completely new. Either way, we can’t wait to see and hear Hit-Girl kick some booty!
AfterShock Comics next hit book; Cold War #1. Creators Christopher Sebela and Hayden Sherman.

Baby Badass #1
Black Betty #1
Death Of Love #1
