Stuntman discusses Iron Man 2

Mickey Rourke’s stunt double, Garrett Warren, discusses the Whiplash costume in Iron Man 2.

Garrett Warren, stunt choreographer and Mickey Rourke’s double in the upcoming Iron Man 2 gave an interview to MovieLine in which he mentioned some details about the Whiplsh costume:

"I had brought two whips with me that are made of kangaroo hide that
are incredibly well made," Warren described of Whiplash’s whips. "You
can perform all sorts of tricks and cracks with them. In the movie, you
won’t see those whips. They’ll digitally replace it with other types of
whips. I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say what the whips will look
like, but they’re going to be these super whips that have an awful lot
of power."

When asked whether the suit will cover the whole body, rather than the mostly shirtless version we’ve seen of Rourke in photos so far, Warren responded:

It covers the whole body in metal rods, but you are shirtless
[underneath]. That was the part that was hard. When you move, it was
metal digging into skin, cutting your shoulders, wrists and back and so
forth.

So is there a chance the finished Whiplash will look more like his comic counterpart and less like a member of a post-apocalyptic Village People? Only time will tell.
