NYCC 2010
Check out some amazing pictures and some chatter about the NYCC. Wait until you see the NEXT set of pictures. We’ll call them….The Girls of NYCC.
Skipping Hot Picks this week for the first time in about 3 years!! Well it’s for a good cause. New York Comic Con! Here’s a few words about it…….AND don’t forget to check back for The Girls of NYCC!
I have to say, I had an amazing time visiting my hometown New York City. I reside in Florida now, and I haven’t been back to the Big Apple in about 6 years. New York is a place that I recommend anyone to visit if you have never been before. It’s spectacular in every sense of the word. Everything you imagine New York to be is, and 10 million times more.
The NYCC was fabulous. I met with so many people, and I have to thank a few right off the bat here. Jeff Balke (Colorist) was a life saver. He allowed me to park my bag with laptop and all sorts of goodies behind his table that Jeff and Brandon stayed at. If you haven’t met Jeff or Brandon at a show yet, you need to make it a point to stop at his table. Not only are these two of the coolest cats you will meet at a comic convention, but Jeff is an amazing talent. Trust me on this one folks!
I met up with fellow InvestComics™ comrade Don Smith. I met Don in New Jersey, and we traveled back into NY. It was great meeting up with him, Don made some great contacts and will be sharing a lot with us as the days and weeks go by. Don was a great teammate to have on Saturday, for the Con got quite hectic as the day progressed. Huge thanks to Don! Thank you so much Don.
I was with my brother in law Daniel Vozzo for most of the weekend. Daniel was the colorist for the Neil Gaiman run on Sandman, and he currently colors Jack of Fables for Vertigo. Daniel was an incredible asset because he introduced InvestComics™ into the world of DC Comics. Many contacts made, InvestComics™ doors were opened once again, thank you Danny.
Secret Identity Podcast did an interview with me. Matt Herring was great, and so was Brian. I’ll let everyone know when to check out the podcast, but until then, keep listening to the Secret Identity Podcast. It’s an awesome show.
Then the list of big thank you(s) also goes out to Mark McKenna, Neal Adams, Jim Stranko, Erik Larsen, Amanda Connor, Jimmy Palmiotti, Brad Walker, David Finch, Victor Gorelick, Richard Hatch, Bob Layton, Peter David, Hector Rodriguez, Mike Carey, Diane Nelson, J.T. Krul, Billy Tucci, Susan Soares, Bryan J.L. Glass, Seth Green, Chris Guarruso, Dan Parent, Jamal Igle, Jason Metcalf, Mark Texira, and a slew of others! Those are honestly a few names I took off the top of my head. If I forgot your name, please write me and I’ll be sure to make it up to you!
Now enough talking, check out some pictures I took at NYCC. Remember to check out the upcoming “Girls of NYCC” feature on InvestComics™. That article will require fewer words, but until then, check out these cool pictures! Which one is your favorite?
See you soon….
