DC’s Convergence will slay the market with great storytelling. Great storytelling along with DC’s test market too. Yes a test market. Now granted they wanted to put together a killer plot that brought “everything” together, but don’t think for a second they aren’t paying attention to the noise (demand) on what older characters or groups are causing a buzz. A buzz on an older group or character could potentially mean more money in the bank for them down the road. This is where YOU have to pay attention. InvestComics can point out some potential (speculation) on some of the older players, but the speculator also needs to keep their ear to the ground here and pay attention. We cannot call them all and we will miss some, so please fanboy, check yourself before you write emails or post on our InvestComics Facebook/Twitter/Instagram accounts that we missed something. And lest we remind you here, this is all speculation on the point that DC is running a mini marketing campaign without anyone realizing it, except for InvestComics of course. The thought of bringing any of these older obscure characters/groups back front and center may never happen. Some of them were very popular at one point and just lost traction along the way, maybe just maybe this is the door that opens once again for them? Maybe not. Either way it’s fun to speculate and collect first appearances anyway.

The entire DC solicit campaign this week centers on two titles from the 90’s. Zero Hour from 1994 and Kingdom Come from 1996. Two epic series in their own right. Fantastic reads and pure fun. You can get the trades for these books, but the original comics are very affordable. Kingdom_Come_InvestComicsClick those red links to buy them now from Ebay.

Convergence Superman Man of Steel #1 will feature the group Gen13. Anyone remember them? They were hot for a little bit back in the day. So is this one of those marketing ploys DC is testing? You never know right? Just in case you’d like to jump on their first appearance it’s in the overprinted Deathmate: Black comic from 1993. Plenty of copies to be found, not a hard one to find by any means.

Lady Quark and Ambush Bug will both appear in Convergence Supergirl Matrix #1. Lady Quark first appeared in the unforgettable Crisis of Infinite Earths storyline. Crisis on Infinite Earths #4 (1985) to be exact. Another very easy get here. Ambush Bug first appearance came in DC Comics Presents #52 (1982). One of those weird comics you’ll find in some 25 cent pile someplace. If you don’t feel like searching for it, buy it right here in this article, but not that many copies on Ebay…..interesting. Love these comics because of the creators on them and because there probably aren’t a whole lot of these in great condition laying around.

The character Deathblow has never really emerged as a winner within the DC universe. Appearing in a ton of Wildstorm books, but never making an impact on the DC side. Granted he’s only had a few appearances since 2011, but still. He will be making an appearance in this week’s Convergence Aquaman #1. His first appearance came in Darker Image #1 (1993). One of the easiest comics on planet earth to get.

Convergence Superboy #1 features an awesome cover by Babs Tarr. InvestComics has spoken about her a few times. An up and comer to watch for.

And just as Convergence #1 had the new Batman (Bunny-Bats) on the variant, Convergence #2 will feature the new look Wonder Woman on its cover. This is sketch variant done by David Finch is sold out. So we can all safely guess where these sketch variant Convergence covers are going right?

Here are the rest of the Convergence titles to check out; Convergence Batman Shadow of the Bat #1, Convergence Suicide Squad #1, Convergence Catwoman #1, Convergence Justice League International #1, Convergence Green Arrow #1 and Convergence Green Lantern Parallax #1.

Archie Comics will make their presence known this week. Check out Betty and Veronica #275 for the first appearance of two new girl transfer students; Violette and Banni. Like as if Archie doesn’t have enough girl troubles in his life right? With all of Archie Comics’ big plans coming in the next few years (movies/television), you never know if they will reach to any new first appearances to make some noise with them. An few variants are available with issue 275 here. Check out that beautiful Adam Hughes variant. How about a sold out Ramona Fradon cover too?

Click on the RED links or comic cover to buy/bid on Ebay right now.

Also this week from Archie Comics is Archie vs Predator #1. Yes that’s right, no misprint here. The Eric Powell variant is all kinds of wrong, but all kinds of awesome though.

….And Archie Comics imprint Dark Circle releases Fox #1. This looks like a good read. A must get.

Marvel Comics’ Ms. Marvel #14 will have an introduction of a new male character. Not sure what the deal is with him, but his name is “Crush”. Maybe that’s his name, not quite sure yet. We’ll have to wait a few issues to watch this one unfold.

Ember #0 from Boundless comics looks interesting (scarce on Ebay right now), as does Tithe #1 and Runlovekill #1 from Image.Runlovekill #1 has only one cover, no variants. If this comic takes off, this is a keeper for the time being. Ebay only showing 5 of these comics right now. Definitely worth a look here. Also check out Aquila #1 from Rebellion comics and Bloodshot Reborn #1 from Valiant.
