Asian Comic Book Characters

Here is a quick checklist of some of the most popular Asian American and Asian comic book characters. 

Shang-ChiCreated by Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin in the early 1970s, Shang-Chi is a Chinese martial artist and the Master of Kung Fu. He has appeared in various Marvel Comics publications and is notable for being one of the first Asian superheroes in mainstream American comics.

Katana – Tatsu Yamashiro, also known as Katana, is a Japanese-American superhero who first appeared in DC Comics in 1983. She is a skilled swordswoman and member of the Batman-affiliated team known as the Birds of Prey.

Sunfire – Shiro Yoshida, also known as Sunfire, is a Japanese mutant superhero who first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1972. He has the ability to generate and manipulate plasma and has been a member of various superhero teams, including the X-Men and the Avengers.

JubileeJubilation Lee, also known as Jubilee, is a Chinese-American mutant who first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1989. She has the ability to generate explosive energy blasts and has been a member of various superhero teams, including the X-Men and the Generation X.

Silk – Cindy Moon, also known as Silk, is a Korean-American superhero who first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2014. She has the same powers as Spider-Man, including super strength, the ability to shoot webs, and heightened senses, and has been a member of various superhero teams, including the Avengers.

Cassandra Cain – Cassandra Cain is a half-Asian, half-Caucasian superhero who first appeared in DC Comics in 1999. She is a skilled martial artist and assassin and has been a member of various superhero teams, including the Birds of Prey and the Bat Family.

InkInk is a Korean-American superhero who first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2016. He is a member of the X-Men and has the ability to manipulate tattoos, which he uses to enhance his physical abilities and attack enemies.

Agent 47 – Agent 47 is a half-Asian, half-Caucasian assassin who first appeared in the “Hitman” video game series in 2000. The character has since been adapted into various media, including a comic book series published by Dynamite Entertainment.

The Green Turtle – The Green Turtle is a Chinese-American superhero who first appeared in Blazing Comics in 1944. He is notable for being one of the first Asian superheroes in American comics and has gained a cult following in recent years.
