Bizarre Real-Life Batman Murder Mystery!

The Batman comic and memorabilia collection belonging to Ben Novack Jr, the murdered heir to a large hotel fortune, has been stolen in a real life case that would perplex even the world’s greatest detective.

In July, Novack was found bound, beaten, and murdered in his hotel room. Almost immediately, family members and potential heirs began fighting to divide the many millions of dollars in assets left behind, going so far as to accuse each other of arranging the murder. Now, it has been discovered that three warehouses holding Novack’s huge Batman collection, believed to be the second largest of this type of collection in the world, are empty. the memorabilia has disappeared without a trace.

One has to wonder how someone could liquidate three warehouses full of Batman memorabilia without being caught, but this case has been nothing if not bizarre from the start. Three months before Novack was found dead in his Hilton Rye hotel room on Jully 12th, his mother, Bernice Novack, was found dead in her home, face down with a fractured skull. Despite speculation, the death was ruled accidental.

Ben Nocack’s widow, Narcy Novack, also recently accessed the safety deposit box of Bernice Novack without authorization, despite the fact that those associated with the family do not believe that the relationship between mother and daughter in law would have permitted such access. In fact, sources say that Bernice Novack believed that her daughter in law had attempted to poison her on at least one occasion.

Narcy Novack is currently engaged in a court battle with May Avad, Ben Novack’s daughter, over the Novack estate. On the day that Novack’s will was revealed to leave the entire estate to Narcy, the two engaged in a violent slugfest outside the Novack home in Fort Lauderdale.

In any case, keep an eye on ebay for some fantastic deals on those rare issues of Detective Comics you’ve been looking for.
