Marvel editor Tom Brevoort has posted pics on his twitter of some of the many Blackest Night tie-in covers Marvel has received for the promotion.
The promotion, of course, allows retailers to trade unsold copies of the Blackest Night tie-in books that were required for retailers to receive lantern rings for DC’s promotion. In what is part gentle rib at DC, part retailer goodwill building exercise, and part marketing research strategy, Marvel is sending ultra-rare Deadpool variants for Siege #3 for groups of the DC books, or at least their covers, shipped to Marvel.
Tom Brevoort posted the following images on his twitter account, showing a pile of the books, as well as one store’s order form trading three hundred DC comics for six Deadpool variants. The promotion has dealt a massive serving of butthurt to the internet, but looks like it may be a success.
