Comic Jumper: New Downloadable Comic Book Game on X-Box 360 and PS3

Twisted Pixel, the developer behind Splosion Man, a downloadable platformer on X-Box 360 and PS3, has revealed its third original IP, a comic book video game called Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley!

With Barman: Arkham Asylum recently released, and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 comic up soon, comic book video game fans might have thought that things couldn’t get any better. However, at PAX ’09, developer Twisted Pixel, creators of the X-Box 360 and PS3 downloadable platformer Splosion Man revealed their latest upcoming game: a foray into the comic book world called Comic Jumper!

Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley

Comic Jumper puts you in control of Captain Smiley, a comic book superhero with a wisecracking star logo on his chest. As Captain Smiley, you can jump into different comic books and alter the story lines, in a game that brings the old school fun of side scrolling games together with the modern capabilities in grpahixs and production.

Perhaps the best part of all of this is the fact that, as you jump from comic to comic, the art style of the entire game changes with the style of the comic! In the trailer, we see, at the very least, a Rob Liefeld-type big muscle, testosterone laden style, a Powerpuff Girls-esque light-manga style, and a style reminiscent of Frank Miller’s grim and gritty Sin City!
