Dynamite Entertaiment weighs in as the fifth largest publisher for the month of March!
April 28, 2010, Runnemede, NJ – For the first time ever, Dynamite Entertainment surged in rankings for the month of March as the fifth largest publisher in comics. For the last five years, Dynamite Entertainment has cemented itself as an integral part of the comics industry with books like Super Powers, Army of Darkness, Red Sonja, The Lone Ranger, The Boys, and so much more!
In this new era of Dynamite, Green Hornet, our flagship series is blazing up the charts! In the month of March, Dynamite Entertainment had the best-selling Indie Comic with Kevin Smith’s Green Hornet #1, the highly-anticipated relaunch of the classic pulp character. Having achieved #11 in dollar sales and #20 in unit sales, Green Hornet has launched as strongly as many Dynamite titles! Dynamite is going to continue to ride the wave of success with many other books in the Green Hornet comic books in the offing. The new Kato’s adventure continues with Kevin Smith’s Kato! The origin of the original Green Hornet marches on in The Green Hornet Year One, and the story of Kato’s origin continues with Kato Origins Way of the Ninja! Lastly, the story of the future Green Hornet carried on with The Green Hornet Strikes!
With Vampirella on the horizon, the Kirby-Verse, and many more titles that have not been announced to date, Dynamite is aiming to be in the top 5 for a long time to come.
"We’ve achieved #5 status in March, which is a great accomplishment. We did it with a lot of hard work, dedication to bringing the best comics possible, and working hand in hand with our creators and licensors. We could not have done it without the support of the fans and retailers. It’s amazing, we have previously achieved #3 publisher for periodicals, but when looking at the Diamond charts, with everything added in, hitting #5 was a goal for this year. We’re happily surprised that we achieved it so early this year, and thank everyone for their support." stated Dynamite President and Publisher Nick Barrucci.
Dynamite Entertainment has grown significantly these past several months with our acquisition of Dabel Bros., the publishing relationship with Liquid and Grant Morrison, as well as acquiring the iconic Vampirella! And with several other more surprises coming up, Dynamite promises to be the most approachable and diverse publisher in the comics industry.
