Green Hornet Movie Begins Production

Many thought  it would never happen, but with a few more additions to the cast, the Green Hornet movie has finally entered the production stage.

The movie, starring Seth Rogen, was originally set to be directed by Stephen Chow, who was also slated to play Kato, The Green Hornet’s sidekick. However, setback after setback occurred, with Chow leaving as director, and then leaving the Kato role. However, Columbia pictures has announced that the movie has overcome its obstacles and has begun production.

With the addition of David Harbour (QUantum of Solace) and Tom Wilkinson (Batman Begins) to the cast, the movie can finally move along as planned. Cameron Diaz is also a cast member, playing a love interest for Rogen, and Jay Chou has stepped into the role of Kato. Nicholas Cage, who has been long rumored to be in the movie, is not yet signed to an official deal, but the studio is moving along anyway.

The move has been set for a December 17th, 2010 release date. We’ll believe it when we see it.
