Green Lantern film may move to Mexico

Rising dollar may shift production away from Australia

Inside Film reports that Warner Bros. may shift production of its Green Lantern film from Australia to Mexico.  This comes after earlier reports that production would move to Louisiana.

The film was originally slated to begin shooting in November of this year.  Although Warner Bros. and the government of New South Wales reached an agreement regarding the production in April, they did not lock in financing before the Australian dollar rose from 72 US cents to 87.5 US cents, substantially raising the cost of the shoot.  In addition, director Martin Campbell has reported made changes to the script, further raising production costs.

Shooting is now planned to begin sometime next year.
