Star Wars: The High Republic #1 – The comic book introduction of a new female lead Jedi; Padawan Keeve Trennis.  Writer Cavan Scott and artist Ario Anindito.
When Disney bought Fox, one of the first things pop culture fans thought of was the Alien franchise. How or better yet, will Disney ever visit the franchise? With the huge fanbase for Alien, the answer is an obvious yes. Where there is money to be made, Disney will figure out a way to get this franchise up and running once again. Disney owns Marvel Comics, so why not start small? Have the Alien appear on a bunch of random covers for absolutely no reason other than looking super cool. Not only will the Alien appear on these covers, but the speculation side will realize (thanks to us) that these are all first appearances within the Marvel Universe. Furthermore, when Disney decides to get cute and have an Alien appear in the background of a Marvel Movie, the fanboys will lose their minds, thus leading to these first appearance covers to skyrocket. Although appearing on seven variant covers, there will be two standouts. The Amazing Spider-Man #56,  Mark Bagley cover, and Venom #32 Ryan Brown cover. Marvel’s flagship character first appears with Alien on his cover and also appears with the biggest villain in the Spidey universe, Venom. Venom, being an alien himself, well, it makes sense. Big stuff here for the first Alien appearances in the Marvel U. Here are the other comics making “Alien” Disney/Marvel history; Miles Morales: Spider-Man #22, Guardians Of The Galaxy #10, Iron Man #5, Thor #11, and Spider-Woman #8. Watch our social media posts throughout the week as we display the various covers. Happy hunting. And you’re welcome.
Eternals #1 – Speaking of variant covers, this debut has 30+ variants at last count. Absurdity. The random Daredevil variant cover from Takashi Okazaki (pictured below) is a keeper. None other than the reason for being so random in having Daredevil on it and looking rad too. The Dave Johnson cover (pictured below) is stellar as well. Do you know what else is stellar? InvestComics giving fans a heads up to buy the 1976 number one issue back in 2008 for $4.99. And also, recommending the first appearance of Sersi. Not because of a movie announcement or did we even mention a possible movie ever coming down the pike. Yes, we are the standard in the speculation market. Not even close. The new series is written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Esad Ribic, so the inside of this comic has a lot to offer.

Symbiote Spider-Man: King In Black #3 – Speaking of InvestComics being the GOAT, eight years ago we recommended buying the first African American Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau) appearance in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #16 (1982). No mention of a movie, a tv show, a cartoon, nothing. Just plain old speculation drove the InvestComics machine. Oh, and Monica makes an appearance this week in this comic. There she is, right there on the badass cover from Greg Land.
Dark Nights Death Metal #7 – This last issue brings two epilogues that will supposedly blow away readers and lead to the next big DC storyline.
Two comics will sell out due to their cover art. Symbiote Spider-Man Marvel Tales #1 from In-Hyuk Lee and Crossover #3 from Todd McFarlane. The Crossover issue has fanboys drooling. Cates and McFarlane? Oh my.
Guardians Of The Galaxy #10 – Comic fan’s favorite villain right now, Knull, arrives at the Guardians of the Galaxy universe to cause some problems. He dons the cover too.

Marvel Tales #1
Death Metal #7
Symbiote KIB #3
Crossover #3
Guardians #10

Here is DC’s full slate of their FUTURE STATE releases. Future State The Next Batman #1 will lead the way. The first African American Batman. DC sat on their proverbial hands as Miles Morales’ success spawned hundreds of thousands of books sold and a multi-million dollar Oscar-nominated movie for Marvel. Does the DC brass feel compelled, now, because of the 2020 cultural changes that occurred to do this? It sure seems a bit contrived, but fans will ultimately be the decider on how far this goes. A good story, background, and genuineness has to accompany this Batman book, as does the Wonder Woman comic. It cannot be a cultural “woke” comic for the sake of “being woke”. Must be genuine. Good for DC for embracing the possibility of a new era for Batman, Wonder Woman, and others.

Batman #1
Superman #1
Wonder Woman #1
Flash #1
Harley Quinn #1
Swamp Thing #1
