Betsy Braddock Captain Britain #1 – There are four “comics” regarding the Betsy Braddock character every collector should know of. If you’re not privy to the knowledge of those four books, you’ve come to the right place. Well, let’s first start by saying that there is actually one comic and three magazine/newspaper-type comics. Back in 1976, The UK marvel market introduced Betsy Braddock in Captain Britain #8 Vol 1 (1976) as Psylocke. The UK Captain Britain Comics were oversize newspaper prints that more resembled a magazine type than a comic book. In Captain Britain #12 Vol 2 (1985), Betsy Braddock was introduced as Captain Britain. The very next issue, Captain Britain #13 (1986) is her first cover appearance. We’re not too sure of the nonsense regarding the cameo/first full appearance stuff pertaining to those two comics, but the first cover appearance we can confidently say is Captain Britain #13. Also with confidence, we can say that her first U.S. appearance is in New Mutants Annual #2 as Psylocke. We know of a Betsy Braddock/Lady Britain appearance somewhere within the realm of the Marvel Multiverse but we cannot definitely track that down to a specific issue. But the gist of the important issues regarding Betsy Braddock is listed here. Now, with all of that out of the way, welcome to the first Betsy Braddock solo mini-series. With writer Tini Howard and making their Marvel artist debut, Vasco Giorgiev, at the helm, look for this series to turn some heads. InvestComics called the UK comic character invasion (television and film) many years ago. Some have since come to fruition, but there is still room for more UK characters to make their mark that we’ve spoken about extensively. How will it all pan out? Who knows, just listen to us and make money. This series here has more upside potential than some may be expecting.
Strange Academy Finals #4 – Speaking of making speculative money for our readers, we called out the original Strange Academy comic upon its release as a hot commodity, and low and behold, BANG. You’re welcome for that one. As far as this series, we’ve informed collectors of the first appearances within each book. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, regarding the Strange Academy, this will be a bigger brand down the road someday. Whether it’s an animation, television, or a film, Strange Academy will make its mark on another media platform eventually.
Superman #1 – This new Superman series will come with first appearance(s) right out of the gate. Villains and the Supercorp. Yep, the first appearance of Supercorp. The superstar creative team of writer Joshua Williamson and artist Jamal Campbell will start things off. It would be in your best interest to pick up this issue.
Batman One Bad Day – Clayface #1 – The amazing “One Bad Day” one-shots continue this week. Clayface takes center stage.
Star Wars The Nameless Terror #1 – Whenever a new Star Wars comic debuts, it’s always a good idea to be on top of it. Maybe a new character is introduced, or an animated character sneaks into a comic for the first time. This release is with Dark Horse though, not Marvel/Disney.

Thor #31 – A new story is set to begin here. Marvel promises twists and revelations. The Mahmud A. Asrar homage (Thor #337 Walt Simonson) cover alone is sure to peak interest.
Lazarus Planet Omega #1 – Each one of the Lazarus event comics has introduced or altered DC characters in a different way. Will this release be any different? Probably not.
Immoral X-Men #1 – Writer Kieron Gillen and artist Paco Medina; a new Emma Frost story.
Star Wars Yoda #4 – With each new release, InvestComics has given readers/collectors a heads up. Marvel/Disney is delivering the first solo Yoda story ever with background droplets of a Yoda origin. What’s not to love here?
Local Man #1 – New Image Comics series from writers Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs. Tony also pencils.
Punisher War Journal Base #1 – The origin of the Punisher War Journal.
