Bishop War College #1 – In recent years the “school” or “academy” comic books have enlighten the readers fancy. It’s not a new concept in the least, but these learning schools are a hotter concept now than they’ve been in the past. One can blame Professor X for opening his doors for the gifted or maybe in the the Teen Titans later on. More recently, the huge success of Strange Academy from Marvel (in which we called out to be a big hit) and the lesser hit Teen Titans Academy from DC Comics, Marvel will try to strike lightning once again with Bishop War College #1. Not to be a downer here, but Bishop leading a group of his students to fight a bad guy is….well, just okay. The title of the comic alludes to the idea we’ll be reading about students going to a place to be taught something and having adventures to follow. Nope, not here. The adventure is on an island with “real” on the job training. Writer J. Holtham and artist Sean Damien Hill debut the new Bishop X-Men team. “War College”. Okay.
Red Goblin #1 – Marvel is getting too Goblin happy these days. They debuted the Golden Goblin and Red Goblin within the same year. Are we going to get all the colors of the rainbow eventually? Even though gold isn’t one of the rainbow colors, but you understand. Green is already taken, so we await the debut of Orange Goblin so we can call him OG for short. Writer Alex Paknadel and artist Jan Bazaldua usher in the latest Goblin is his own series. Golden Goblin already got his.
Alien #6 – Month after month we talk about this series and the importance of it. And that Alien lady thing on the cover? Seriously? Yes, Disney is truly setting up its Alien universe here with the debut of new entities and characters on the regular. They’re doing the same with their Predator franchise as well. And like we’ve said over and over again, you best stay on top of this when Disney finally decides to release their Alien or Predator movie it’s going to correlate to these comics either a little or a lot.
Lazarus Planet Next Evolution #1 – DC’s Lazarus Planet event continues to churn out new characters in each of their books. This comic will debut Vigil.

Static Shadows Of Dakota #1 – “Don’t call it a comeback, I been here for years.” That’s LL Cool J saying this in 1991. Two years after LL lay that claim, Static debuted. Welcome back Static…….again.
Storm And The Brotherhood Of Mutants #1 – Storm heading a comic that no one really asked for, but we get a first appearance out of it. Ironfire will make their debut. We also receive fantastic comic book talent as well. Al Ewing writing and Paco Medina pencils.
Space Job #1 – New series from Dark Horse. Writer David Goodman and artist Alvaro Sarraseca.
Monarch #1 – New sci-fi series from Image Comics. Writer Rodney Barnes and artist Alex Lins.
