City Boy #1A newer DC hero receives the solo treatment. Their own series. A rare DC Korean-born hero will get their story told by none other than rock star writer Greg Pak. The price of admission right there pays for itself.  Artists Sunny Gho and Minkyu Jung. City Boy’s first appearance is listed in two comics. A Cameo and a first full we presume. No idea, but we heard the two comics are, Wildstorm 30th Anniversary Special #1 (2022) and DC Universe Lazarus Planet Legends Reborn #1 (2023). The Lazarus comic is a first cover appearance. A hunch speculative call here, but we see upside potential for this character. Stay tuned…..
The Ambassadors #5 – We here at InvestComics have given Mark Millar’s Ambassadors series a post-up on every new issue release. There is a reason The Ambassadors #1 issue is on its third print already. A reason why the first issue has sold for $20 in some places. Yes, we love this series, yes this series has the potential to become bigger than a comic book story someday. Yes, we said it before issue one was released, yes, we’ll continue to praise this series and yes, don’t forget who said it. Buy this series.
Extreme Venomverse #2 – Look for a constant array of new characters appearing within this storyline. Marvel says there will be new Venom’s in this issue, so at least they announced it ahead of time for this comic. They’re looking out for those speculators, thanks Marvel! Two new Venom’s arriving that we DO know of are, a Venom Marvel 1602 version from Clay McLeod Chapman and Paul Davidson and a Venom named L.M.V. The acronym stands for Life-Model Venom. Now, what does this all mean in the real comic book speculation life? Absolutely nothing really. Well, it does and doesn’t. With the release of so many new characters in one storyline, and overall in general in all of the comic books across the board, it only takes ONE to hit and all of the “investments” you’ve made pays off on eBay in a flash. That one comic becomes THE comic, slabbed becomes another level comic. You buy comics you like, which you think are the spec books. You will fail though, like we have. It’s perfectly normal in a modern market. You will win, that’s normal too. Follow us, InvestComics, and we’ll set the record straight for you as best we could. If you accept, you’re not going to get it right all the time, and you’re honest with yourself about it, you’ll be Gucci (as the young ones say today, right?). One more thing, if you’re super-duper positive about a first appearance, buy the variant (preferably with the said new character on the cover). If that first appearance comic hits, you have a golden ticket on your hands.
Spider-Man 2099 Dark Genesis #4 – Was it last week or the week before? We don’t remember, but the new Punisher 2099 looks more badass this week than he did when we first mentioned it. He’s donning “the skull”, what’s not to love here?
Warlock Rebirth #2 – Last issue introduced Eve, the female version of Warlock. We learn more about who she is here. Two creators who know how to get it done, are writer Ron Marz and artist Ron Lim. Hell yeah.

Daredevil & Echo #1Here is a team-up fans could look forward to. Writers Taboo and B. Earl, with artist Phil Noto. As we do from time to time around here, we drop reminders as to how ahead of the curve we were (are now) in most cases. We aren’t right all the time, but when we’re right, it eliminates any losses in a hurry. Case in point, nine years ago we spoke of a character named Echo. Then we spoke about her after the Daredevil Netflix was announced. No information, nothing about the show was spoken of. This is what we said way before Daredevil ever hit the small screen and what we said after the announcement;
*Daredevil Annual #1; Echo makes an appearance. With all of the female heroes/villains getting a lot of attention these days, maybe you’d want to get your hands on a relatively affordable first appearance. Marvel Knight’s Daredevil #9 (1999) features the first appearance of Echo. Written by David Mack, art by Joe Quesada. Sweet book.
*
As previously mentioned, Daredevil will be getting his own netflix series. I’m making a call right here that you will hear HERE first. Echo will be the female go-to in the series. How do I know this? A hunch. I’ve been right before. I’ve also been wrong before too! The hunch points to Echo for me and Echo’s first is in Daredevil (vol. 2) #9 (1999).
It’s good knowing that we have such a deep archive and understanding of this market, and have provided our fans with honest/no agenda content since 2005. While so many others became bonkers when Echo was announced, we had our fans buying her first appearance out of the dollar boxes years and years ago. Enjoy the new team-up story this Wednesday!

Storm #1 – The legend herself, writer Ann Nocenti, will be telling a story that’ll focus on the Goddess of weather. And with added measure, the debut comic will feature a first-appearance villain. Artist Sid Kotian joins in on the fun.
Star Wars Darth Vader – Black, White & Red #2 – We’ll follow this comic series all the way through until its finale. Just like we’re doing with Mark Millar’s Ambassadors. It’s a series worth picking up. Period.
Harley Quinn #30 – There is some kind of first appearance in here, we’re not quite sure exactly though. Cosmic workout gear? Umm, okay.
Dead By Daylight #1 – Based on the hit video game. Writer Nadia Shammas and artist Dilon Snook. A Titan Books release.
Fearless Dawn Cold – From Asylum Press, written and drawn by Steve Mannion.
Fury #1 – This new series answers the question; Who is S.C.O.R.P.I.O.? Badass writer Al Ewing with artists Scot Eaton and Ramon Rosanas.
**Two more Spider-Verse variant covers this week to check out. Are these first appearance covers? Is there a Spider-Thor out there already? If not, there it is. Click the covers and buy them both now if you’re in the market.
