Batman #158 brings the return of a legend—Hush is back. Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee reunite for a new arc that picks up threads from their iconic Batman run. The Bat-books have been teasing this for a while, and this sequel arc promises major ramifications for Bruce Wayne and his rogues’ gallery. If you’re speccing on keys tied to Hush or future Bat-films, this one earns a top spot on your pull list. There will be plenty of variant covers to choose from for this return. One in particular is a glow-in-the-dark cover. Old school! Amazing Spider-Man #70 wraps up “The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man” and gives us… the Spider-Naut?! Marvel’s been pretty tight-lipped about who or what that is, but with a title like that and a finale issue, we’re likely seeing a new variant, transformation, or character evolution. When a series like this drops something big at the end of an arc, you don’t want to be without a first print. Daredevil #19 drops with the weight of Matt Murdock’s sins crashing down around him. After months of reckoning, this issue doesn’t hold back—Daredevil finally pays the price, and the consequences echo beyond Hell’s Kitchen. A major turning point issue that sets the foundation for the next arc, and knowing how Marvel loves to shift the status quo, this could be the start of another evolution for the character. Collectors, take note: when an issue is billed as “the start of the next epic,” pay attention. Deadpool vs. Wolverine: Slash ‘Em Up! #1 is the printed bloodbath you’ve been waiting for. Originally a digital exclusive, this Infinity Comic is now available in glorious paper form—just in time for April Pool’s Day. Wade’s in Madripoor on a mercenary job, but Logan isn’t exactly onboard with his methods. The result? The usual carnage, snark, and buddy-cop chaos that makes these two fan-favorites endlessly watchable. Doom’s Division #1 plants its flag in a world where Doctor Doom actually succeeded… and somehow brought peace? Yeah, it’s suspicious. But now Tiger Division—the South Korean superhero squad—has to adapt under White Fox’s command in Doom’s utopia. Yoon Ha Lee makes his Marvel debut as writer, paired with artist Minkyu Jung. This is one of those books that could fly under the radar… or explode if Marvel decides to push Doom or White Fox into a higher spotlight. Pooluminati #1 takes a concept so absurd it might actually be brilliant. Deadpool discovers there’s a shadow organization of Deadpools across the multiverse pulling the strings—think the Illuminati, but way more unhinged. 616 Wade is summoned, and chaos ensues. This one’s stuffed with Easter eggs and may introduce some brand-new multiversal ‘Pools. Add to that a short story featuring Elliepool and a princess, and you’ve got a full-blown multiversal mess. Collectors of Deadpool variants and multiverse moments—this is for you.
Hot Picks for NCBD.
You’ll Do Bad Things #1 dives into dark, psychological horror with a true crime twist. Writer Seth Holms hasn’t been able to write since his hit novel about a nursery rhyme killer… and now his horrific ideas are leaking into the real world. With storytelling influenced by giallo thrillers, this Image Comics debut from Tyler Boss and Adriano Turtuluci oozes with mystery, metafiction, and potential cult-classic status. If this takes off, first printings are going to be sought after. Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 is the matchup you never thought you’d need. But now that it’s here, you can’t look away. This is Round 1 of 6 standalone monster brawls, where Godzilla faces off against the Marvel Universe. First up? A city-smashing clash as King Ghidorah, now Galactus’ new herald (yes, you read that right), descends with cosmic power. Silver Surfer, Godzilla, and the Fantastic Four team up to stop the apocalypse. A must-have for Marvel and kaiju fans alike. Fantastic Four #30 centers on Ben Grimm’s personal spiral after a humiliating loss to Doom. Ben and Alicia’s trip to New York goes south fast, and the Thing ends up making a desperate choice that might shift who he is forever. A rare spotlight on this duo, and one that feels like it might carry weight for collectors and character fans alike. Quiet, emotional, and maybe a sleeper key. X-Manhunt Omega #1 delivers the final showdown. Professor X has been on the run, and now his allies and enemies catch up with him. Betrayals, shifting alliances, and a major decision that could change mutantkind forever. Expect this book to close a chapter and open another—don’t be shocked if it hints at the next era for the X-line. Omega issues often get attention for being transition points, and this one’s loaded with heavy implications. Doom Academy #2 continues the wild Dr. Doom experiment with Zoe stuck in a fairy-tale book where things go sideways fast—this isn’t the Disney version of fantasy. While Zoe’s life is on the line, her fellow students begin to uncover the darker truths behind Latveria. A comic that mixes sci-fi academia with twisted folklore, this is one of the more unique Doom stories we’ve seen in years. Absolute Wonder Woman #6 rewinds the clock to reveal the shocking origins of Diana’s weaponry—because apparently defying Hades comes with a deep mythological cost. This two-part guest arc begins here with standout artist Mattia De Iulis, plus a Li’l Diana backup tale that’s far less cute than you think. This is mythos-deepening, continuity-expanding storytelling—exactly what speculators like to see when looking for keys.
Hot Picks for NCBD
Uncanny X-Men #12 puts Gambit in the crosshairs. A mysterious enforcer known only as The Vig is collecting on old debts, and Remy’s past catches up to him in this gritty one-shot crime story. Details about Gambit’s life that we’ve never seen before are revealed—potentially changing canon and definitely sparking interest in first appearances. X-Men fans: don’t skip this. Harley Quinn Fartacular Silent Butt Deadly #1 is not for the faint of nostril. Yes, it’s a flatulence-fueled fever dream, but Harley books have a way of becoming hot oddities on the secondary market—especially weird ones. If you’re a completist or someone who believes that a fart joke comic will sell for $30 one day, grab this and pray the internet goes wild. Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante & Eagly Double Feature #1 is a two-for-one DC chaos special. James Gunn steps in as story consultant, bringing the tone of the MAX series to the page. Vigilante goes rogue hunting Peacemaker (who’s actually on vacation), and meanwhile, Eagly and Chris get ambushed during their attempt at relaxing. There’s violence, idiocy, and heart—a perfect storm of ridiculousness that could be a sleeper hit if Gunn fans latch on. Weapon X-Men #2 introduces the Wolverines of Mass Destruction. That alone makes it worth the grab. A major villain from Logan’s past emerges, and the team may not survive what’s coming. Another multiversal twist for the X-Men, packed with action and potential first appearances. This is exactly the kind of unpredictable chaos collectors watch for. We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us #1 kicks the week off with a boom (literally). This explosive oversized debut from Image Comics throws us into the chaotic life of 13-year-old Annalise, who inherits a robot bodyguard after her supervillain father is taken out by the world’s top spy. So, what do you do when your father’s a mad scientist and you’ve got grief, vengeance, and a killer mech on your side? Global domination, maybe. Written by Matthew Rosenberg with art by Stefano Landini, this one is loaded with spy drama, angsty revenge, and sci-fi weirdness. A sleeper series premiere worth picking up early.
