Hot Picks This Week: New Comics Unleashed Including Wolverine’s New Armor & More

Welcome to another dizzying week at the comic stands, courtesy of your trusty guide, InvestComics Hot Picks. This week’s lineup is so stacked.

Marvel’s all in with the Blood Hunt saga, spreading like a charming vampire across your favorite titles. Sink your teeth into Dracula: Blood Hunt #1, where the infamous Count might just school everyone on how a real bloodsucker operates. Then, there’s Strange Academy: Blood Hunt #1, what’s a magical school without a little blood magic? Don’t forget to check out Blood Hunters #1, a thrilling anthology that’s basically a blood-soaked love letter to Marvel fans. Deadpool #2 barrels in with more antics, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t need a dose of Deadpool’s charm? This issue promises a deeper dive into the nefarious Death Grip. The black costume celebration continues with Marvel nodding to Spidey’s darker threads. Captain Marvel #8 and Wolverine #49 are sporting some seriously sleek black suits. Fashionably late to the party but dressed to impress.  A quick shoutout to the second printing of The Rat City #1. That cover? Dope indeed.

For the traditionalists, Giant-Size X-Men #1 is here to throw a new villain into the mix, of course, what’s a Giant comic without a giant-sized problem? Kudos to legend Ann Nocenti and artist Lee Ferguson for delivering what promises to be a hefty dose of mutant drama. Speaking of heavy hitters, Wolverine #49 is set to debut Logan’s first full Adamantium Armor appearance. Yes, you read that right—because sometimes, even Wolverine needs an upgrade. Kneel Before Zod #5 introduces the Legion of Zod. Why have one megalomaniac when you can have a whole legion? On a lighter (or darker?) note, The Boy Wonder #1 offers a fresh Robin tale. Juni Ba is pulling double duty on writing and drawing, which means this is either going to be spectacular or a spectacular effort at least. For those who prefer their comics with a side of eerie, Ain’t No Grave #1 from Image Comics melds a macabre Western with fantasy in a way only Skottie Young and Jorge Corona can deliver. It’s like they’re daring other genres to be this cool.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Black, White & Green #1. It seems everyone’s catching on to the three-color trend, and who better to play with green than our favorite shellbacks? Valiant Comics is out here building its own Avengers-style lineup with The Valiants #1. Bold move, Valiant, let’s see if it pays off. Boom Studios isn’t just sitting back either, launching Crocodile Black #1. The title alone has us intrigued—is it a crocodile that’s black, or something much cooler? The black costume celebration continues with Marvel nodding to Spidey’s darker threads.
