Iconic Debuts and Historic Team-ups in Comics

Wolverine #1 from 1988 introduces us to Wolverine as Patch. Because when you’re a nearly immortal mutant with adamantium claws, what you really need is a disguise that screams ‘I’m definitely not Wolverine.’ Thor Annual #6 throws us into cosmic shenanigans with Thor’s first team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and a second sighting of Korvac. New Teen Titans #2, where Deathstroke first appearance crashes the party, and Trigon makes a 1st cameo so brief you might miss it if you blink. Firestorm The Nuclear Man #1 from 1978, where we get the origin story of the only guy at the party who can really light it up—literally. Deadpool #1 from the early ’90s, giving us Deadpool in all his solo glory. His first solo comic, because if there’s one thing the ’90s taught us, it’s that every wise-cracking anti-hero deserves their own series. Amazing Spider-Man #611, we find Spidey and Deadpool in their first awkward bromance dance of 1999. Their first team-up!
