Black Panther #5 – A couple of issues ago, a new character was introduced, Tosin. We learn more about him here.
What If…Miles Morales #2 – This issue will focus more on the origin of the fan-favorite mash-up character.
Future State Gotham #12 – Fans will see the last of The Next Joker….for now. And a new Nightwing emerges.
Elektra #100 – Elektra hits a milestone issue. Hopefully, we get a book with substance here and not too much fluff. With veteran writer Ann Nocenti in the driver’s seat, we should be in for a treat and not worry too much about a filler issue.

Immortal Red Sonja #1 – Whenever the word “Immortal” accompanies a comic title these days, it seems to vibe on a different level. Not too sure why that word has that effect, but it does. Writer Dan Abnett and artist Alessandro Miracolo get things started for the new Immortal Red Sonja!
A Town Called Terror #1 – A new horror story from Image Comics. Brought to us by a horror writer legend, Steve Niles. Superstar artist Szymon Kudranski will join in on the fun. Expect this new comic to sell out in a hurry.
Sandman Universe Nightmare Country #1 – The Sandman universe receives the full treatment here to introduce new readers into the DC Sandman realm. Some of the industry’s top talent spin out new tales. Writer James Tynion IV, artists Yanick Paquette and Lisandro Estherren. This is some lineup, nice.
Break Out #1 – New series from Dark Horse Comics. Writer Zachary Kaplan and artist Wilton Santos.

Marvel Comics realized a little while back that by putting mash-up comic heroes and villains on random covers, it sells. They sell very well. So, they continue to do the pointless, but very effective mash-ups. Although useless in regards to the relevancy within the inside of the comic, some of the covers are very dope and produce a “first-ever” look at an esthetically pleasing new character. Maybe a tester to see which mash-ups get the most play and they’ll roll with it? Thus getting a new character running because of the demand from fans wanting to see more of him/her? Who knows really, but that seems logical doesn’t it? Otherwise, what is the real point of seeing so many Gwen crossover covers, Carnage crossover covers, Venom, etc? Granted, some are celebrating the anniversary of their years in comics, but most aren’t. They’re just random mash character covers. This week fans will see the Spider-Man mash-up covers hitting the shelf. Remember, if any of these mash-ups ever break out, these are their first appearances. Please note, that we do not do the tedious work of finding out if the Black Spider Panther is a true first appearance or ANY other character mash-ups are. We’ll leave that up to you. Have at it. But, here are some possible first appearance covers of Spider-Man doing his mash-up cover thing.
