Key Issues and Big Reveals: New Comics Bringing the Heat This Week.
Starting off strong, Doom’s Division #2 keeps expanding Doom’s little side hustle of hero management. Tiger Division gets juiced up with three new members pulled from all across Asia: WAVE, KARMA, and AERO. That’s right—new team lineup alert! Their first assignment? Nothing big, just taking a little trip to Japan to shut down a resistance movement led by SUNFIRE. You know, molten mutant, casually throwing around the power of a small volcano. If you think that’s the end of their problems, you’re new to how Doom runs operations. If your idea of a dream matchup is radioactive kaiju vs. a stressed-out superhero, well then Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 was tailor-made just for you. Spidey, fresh back from SECRET WARS (and still parading around in that very cursed alien costume), finds himself dodging Godzilla’s atomic breath across the streets of New York City. Toss in a love triangle with MJ and Black Cat, job stress at the Daily Bugle, and rent that’s definitely late—and you’ve got Spider-Man’s worst Tuesday ever. Oh yeah, it’s the THIRD round in this ridiculous but glorious kaiju showdown series. Flying across the galaxy, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker #3 throws us back into the wreckage of the Death Star, because nothing says healthy coping like revisiting the worst trauma in galactic history. Rey’s mysterious parentage is finally laid out, while Poe, Finn, and Chewbacca scramble to survive General Hux’s worst mood swings yet. Also? The epic Rey vs. Kylo Ren battle begins here. If you were waiting for some canon juice, this one is a heavy pour. Over in the new Ultimate Universe, Ultimate Spider-Man #16 pulls the curtain back on one of Spidey’s shadiest rogues. That’s right, it’s the Secret Origin of Mysterio! Kingpin barely knows anything about this guy in the smoky helmet, so naturally, Peter Parker has to stumble face-first into his mess. Because why not? It’s not like Peter’s life is ever complicated enough already. Meanwhile, the claws are out in Weapon X-Men #3, and we get a first look at WEAPON EXILE, because of course this team needed one more volatile wildcard. Wolverine, Deadpool, Cable, Chamber, and Thunderbird are barely keeping it together when Baron Strucker crashes the party with his shiny new super-army. If chaos is your thing, this book delivers it in blood-soaked buckets. Speaking of mutant drama, Wolverine and Kitty Pryde #1 digs deep into the past for a long overdue follow-up to Claremont’s classic Kitty Pryde & Wolverine mini-series. Multiple new characters are making their first appearances here, and Logan and Kitty are once again fighting through Japan’s underworld. Mariko Yashida’s back in the mix, and dark forces are circling. Old wounds, new battles, and a whole lot of mutant ninja action—yeah, this one’s got serious collector potential stamped all over it.

Image Comics is throwing their hat into the fantasy horror ring with Lost Fantasy #1, and trust me, you’ll want a seat for this one. Rookie monster hunter Henry Blackheart steps up when ancient beasts tear through into our world. Think East of West meets Something Is Killing the Children—yeah, that’s a recipe for both dark magic and dark money. Plus, bonus: INDIGO CHILDREN return in a serialized story right inside these pages, because Image knows you love some extra chaos. Switching gears, Batman Superman World’s Finest 2025 Annual #1 drops the secret origin of the Legion of Doom’s most twisted plan yet. How twisted? Let’s just say it’s bad enough to threaten the World’s Finest and the Justice League Unlimited. Writers Mark Waid and Christopher Cantwell aren’t pulling punches here. Also, big heads up: This issue gives us the definitive World’s Finest take on John Stewart’s Lantern origin. Yeah, that’s pretty important. DC’s street-level heroes are getting a serious revival in Power Company Recharged #1. Spinning straight out of the Black Lightning and DC Power events, Josiah Power and Jefferson Pierce put together a new squad to rebuild the public’s faith in metas. Jace Fox Batman, The Signal, and Vixen are on the trail of a meta-hunting serial killer in Atlanta, and it’s not going to be pretty. With Bryan Edward Hill back at DC alongside Khary Randolph and Alitha Martinez, this oversized special issue promises to be heavy, gritty, and extremely collectable. Horror fans, rejoice. The Graveyard Club: Fresh Blood #1 brings R.L. Stine back for another chapter of his teen thriller saga. The gang’s trying real hard to live normal lives after, you know, surviving pure nightmare fuel last semester—but daddy disappearances and shady pasts have a way of clawing you back in. If you like your horror with a side of emotional scarring, make room on your pull list. Flying back into the Star Wars galaxy, Star Wars Hyperspace Stories: Codebreaker #1 sees Poe Dameron and BB-8 facing off against an infamous First Order TIE fighter pilot in a high-stakes game of survival. It’s a celebration of The Force Awakens 10-year anniversary, but let’s be real—you’re here for Poe being a boss in a cockpit and BB-8 being an actual war hero in droid form. It’s a four-issue series, but this first one’s setting the tone for all-out starship shenanigans. And finally. That Mikel Janin Detective Comics 2025 Annual #1 cover sure does sneak in a striking resemblance to someone we know…..from Marvel Comics! What’s up with that? We weren’t aware of a Batman/Punisher team-up comic. Were you? Could you imagine if this comic gets pulled into a lawsuit because of it? That would ring our cash registers! Cha-Ching!!
