More Trouble for the Spider-Man Musical

Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is in trouble again, with its release date pushed back to next spring.

It seems like only yesterday when we reported that the Spider-Man musical, with music written by U2’s Bono and starring Evan Rachel Wood and Alan Cumming, was facing difficulties after prematurely announcing that it had found new sponsors – especially when one of the supposed sponsors was as shocked by the news as anyone else.

In the wake of these troubles, the premiere of the beleagured musical has been pushed back until next spring. As if you thought the announcement of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s colon cancer was the worst thing that could happen to musical theater fans.

PS – for those of you who loved Jesus Chris Superstar, Cats, or Phantom of the Opera: Webber’s colon cancer is reportedly in the early stages and treatable.
