The New York Comic Con and the New York Anime Fest will be held together at the Jacob Javitz Center in October, 2010!
The company that runs both the Comic Convention and the Anime Fest, Reed Exhibitors, has decided to move the Comic Con, traditionally held in February, to October, the same time as the Anime Fest. Rumor has it that this move is the result of the Chicago Comic Convention being held in April, diluting the big news that publishers normally release at cons.
Ticket-holders to one of the events will have access to both. Both events will share a show floor, though separate guest lists and programming space will remain. This year’s Anime Fest takes place September 25-27.
