Norton Squashes Rumors of Cameo in Iron Man 2

Hulk actor Edward Norton dispelled rumors that he will make a cameo in Iron Man 2, disappointing Avengers-hungry fans.

Asked by MTV at the International Film Festival in Toronto if the rumors of his appearance in Iron Man 2 were true, Edward Norton replied:

"I heard that. I don’t know where that’s coming from. I am not in ‘Iron Man 2’ to my knowledge."

Norton and Marvel disagreed over the final cut of his Hulk movie, and afterward, Norton seemed reluctant to work with Marvel again. However, he has recently changed his stance on involvement in the upcoming Avengers movie from a likely no to a "no comment," something typically reserved for situations in which there is dealing in progress that cannot be discussed.

It remains to be seen if Norton will eventually reprise his role as Bruce Banner in either the Avengers movie or a Hulk sequel, but Marvel has shown willingness recently to recast actors as they did for the role of War Machine in Iron Man 2.
