Popeye in 3D?

Will his eyes literally pop out of the screen?

Variety is reporting that Sony is planning a 3D movie version of EC Segar’s classic comic strip and cartoon character Popeye. Fans may also remember the Robert Altman (I know, wtf?) movie from the 80s. Avi Arad, who used to head up Marvel movies is involved, so it could be good, or it could be Bratz.

Now I’m hungry for some Spinach.
