Powers TV show gets a Showrunner and a Director

The TV version of Bendis and Oeming’s creator-owned series now has a Showrunner and a Director.

More news from this week’s G4 Fresh Ink video interview with Brian Michael Bendis!

BMB and Michael Avon Oeming’s Icon series Powers has been in development at the FX network for a while now, and this week Bendis revealed that the show now has a Showrunner and the Pilot has a Director.

The Showrunner is Kevin Falls, who has worked on shows such as Sports Night, The West Wing, Shark and Journeyman.

The Director is Michael Dinner, who has directed a lot of TV shows, including the Bionic Woman pilot, Kidnapped, Sons Of Anarchy and The Beast.

This is good news, these guys certainly have a good pedigree, and Powers is definitely suited for a TV show, it’s a police procedural after all. And FX is a good home, The Shield is probably the 2nd best cop show ever. Let’s all hope this comes together and Powers gets to the small screen. Now all we need is casting details! Who do you want as Walker and Deena?

Bendis also discusses the upcoming Volume 3 relaunch of the Powers comic in the interview.
