REH News: Conan and Solomon Kane
Solomon Kane gets picked up by Lionsgate, and Conan gets new special effects artists.
Good news accross the boards for fans of Robert E. Howard, creator of such popular comics properties as Conan the Barbarian, Solomon Kane, Red Sonja, and Kull. First, the Solomon Kane movie has been picked up for American distribution by Lionsgate, reports Fangoria . Not only that, but the movie is now rumored to be likely to recieve a thatrical release instead of heading straight to DVD!
In other REH news, the Conan the Barbarian movie has added new special effects and makeup artists to its crew: Shaun Smith and Scott Wheeler, two of the guys that worked on Zack Snyder’s adaptation of Frank Miller’s 300! Smith will be working on creature design, while Wheeler will be doing makeup. The movie is set to start shooting in Bulgaria in February.
