Rene Russo Joins the Cast of Marvel’s Thor

Rene Russo will play Thor’s mother Frigga in the Marvel movie.

The actress joins stars like Natalie Portman, Samuel Jackson, Anthony Hopkins, and Stan Lee in the movie being dirrected by Kenneth Branaugh. The movie, which features the Norse god of Thunder, Thor, being sent to Earth where he learns what it takes to be a hero when the greatest villain of his world brings Asgardian forces to invade the Earth, is due out in 2011.
