Stan Lee Creates New Comic Starring Himself for Archie

Archie Comics will publish Secret Seven, a new comic book property developed by and starring Stan Lee.

The new property, which does not fall under the recent agreement between Disney and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment, will also be developed for television and other mediums by A2(A Squared), a new company headed by Andy Heyward, former head of DIC entertainment, which produced such notable shows as the second GI Joe animated series and the Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

Secret Seven will explore the adventures of seven superpowered aliens who crash-land on Earth, where they meet Stan Lee. Lee mentors the aliens, helping them to become superheroes on Earth. Although I’ve briefly appeared in other comics," Lee said, "’Super Seven’ is the first time that I’ll actually be a continuing character in a far-out, original superhero series."

The series is targeted for a fall release in print, online, and for television.
