Happy holiday’s to all of our fans! You have continued our reign as the longest entertainment/speculative comic book website on the net. We appreciate every single one of you. Let’s get to this week’s comics….

Although we think Marvel is playing up the Phoenix return a bit too much, a new dedicated comic this Wednesday declares the big return; Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey #1. Writer Matthew Rosenberg and artist Leinil Francis Yu.
Star Wars fans will be happy campers this Wednesday. If you have seen The Last Jedi movie, you will have learned and seen a planet named Crait. A salt ridden planet in which the Resistance did battle with the First Order many years before. A new comic this week will focus in on that battle. Check out Star Wars The Last Jedi – The Storms of Crait #1. Creators Ben Acker, Ben Blacker and Mike Mayhew do the honors.
Amazing Spider-Man #793 continues the hot Venom Inc. (part 4) storyline.
Looks as though The Purple Man character is really making his presence felt lately. Jessica Jones #15; Return of The Purple Man part 3. Purple Man first appeared in Daredevil #4 (1964).

DC’s Doomsday Clock #2 arrives this week. Fans ate up the first issue with a mostly reserved opinion on whether or not they’ll like where writer Geoff Johns is leading us to, let’s see how the follow-up goes. We have great faith it will go just right.
A possible new villain appearance in Action Comics #994. “Booster Shot” part 2.
The “Super Sons of Tomorrow” story continues in Teen Titans #15.
Phoenix is back for Marvel this week, Hawkman will bid his return this week as well. Check out Hawkman Found #1 from Jeff Lemire, Bryan Hitch and Kevin Nowlan.

InvestComics Indie Hot Picks; Indie comics do not always show up on Ebay right way. Please check back on a regular basis, some of the smaller print indie books usually list after new comic book release day or a few days after.
A new release from Scout Comics; Ghosts of Hiroshima #1. With Scout comics, two things are always guaranteed, good art and good storytelling. Creators; Jim Krueger and Luigi Borillo.
From interesting new release from Image Comics; Bonehead #1 from creators Bryan Edward Hill and Rhoald Marcellius.
Not sure how much of the new Cerebus comic is new material (if at all), but with creative names like Dave Sim and Frank Miller (Dark Knight homage cover) attached, no matter; The Vark Knight Returns #1.
Comix Tribe had Sink #3 on delay, so we’re not sure if Sink #4 will hit this week. It’s supposed to, so we’ll see. It’s a hot series for the Tribe, so hopefully they get back on schedule.

Scarlett’s Strike Force #1 (IDW); creators Aubrey Sitterson and Nelson Daniel.
Magika #1 (Red Giant); creators David Lawrence, Kevin Juaire and Sebastian Cheng.
Zipper: Cosmic Jungle #1 (Arcana Comics).
Casper & Wendy #1 (American Mythology); Jenni Gregory and S.A. Check.

DC Comics will begin two new storylines this Wednesday. Flash #25 ‘Running Scared’, written by Joshua Williamson and art by Carmine Di Giandomenico. This issue will give you more bang for the buck, it’s ‘extra sized’. Suicide Squad #20 begins the ‘False Flag’ story. Written by Rob Williams and art by Stjepan Sejic.
Click on the RED links, Images or the comic cover to buy/bid from All available sellers on Ebay.
DC’s Wonder Woman #25 extra sized issue focuses on every storyline since the Wonder Woman Rebirth era. That’s four major stories and maybe a few more sprinkled in. Writer Greg Rucka brings all of this together in one issue. Greg has been killing it on these pages of Wonder Woman, he will kill it here in this extra sized issue as well. Art from Liam Sharp and Bilquis Evely.
Out of all of the DC/Looney Tunes crossover comics from recent weeks, Batman/Elmer Fudd Special #1 seems to be the most interesting. The ultimate hunter hunts the ultimate darkness of night. This special is written by Tom King (no stranger to Batman!) and art by Byron Vaughns.

Venom Graded Comics On Ebay – All Ebay Sellers – Buy/Bid Now – Click Image

The ever so popular Venom character picks it up a notch in a new summer event starting in Edge of Venomverse #1. This series of books will create a bit of a frenzy as the next big breakout mash-up character will probably emerge. Who will it be? Will it be Venom Gwenpool, Venom Ghost Rider, Venom X-23, Venom Rocket Raccoon, Venom Doctor Strange, Venom Cap, Venom Deadpool, and the list goes on. So the best advice we offer here is to buy anything regarding the Venomverse so you don’t miss that boat on any mash-up that may breakout. First and foremost you’ll be getting a Venom story delivered by excellent writer Cullen Bunn, so it’s a win right there even if a character never does breakout into a spin-off or create a ridiculous speculative aftermarket surge.
Readers will learn more about the character named Malarus in Star Wars: Poe Dameron #16. The first time we saw Malarus was back in Star Wars: Poe Dameron #13.

And speaking of Star Wars, if you like stories with very little dialog, then maybe Star Wars Droids Unplugged #1 will be for you. The comic drives on the concept of following three Droids and their adventures; R2D2, BB-8 and the Probe Droids. So with that synopsis, we assume there won’t be much story dialog getting driven here. Safe to assume this, no? They’re Droids! On the contrary though, back in 1986, Marvel went this route with Star Wars: Droids #1 from their Star Comics imprint. However, lots of dialog in this eight-part series. C3PO led the way with his talkative self, hence lots of dialog. He never shuts up! One of the true highlights of the first five issues has to be the legendary John Romita Sr. penciling all five covers and did the interior for the first four issues. That in itself is a reason to have this series in your collection.
The amazing writing skills of Greg Pak continues as his mash-up will come to life sooner or later; Hulk/Wolverine….or whatever they call ‘it’. Check out Totally Awesome Hulk #20 for part two of Weapons of Mutant Destruction. We really cannot wait for the title ‘Totally Awesome..’ to go away. It’s so silly and juvenile. It’ll happen, just need Marvel to realize how silly it really is and that will happen eventually. We guarantee it.

Alterna Comics continue their torrid pace within the industry with the reintroduction of the ‘old comic print’ comics. This week they continue that onslaught with Scrimshaw #1. If you haven’t had a chance to check out this new (old) comic format, we suggest you do. It’s nostalgic to the older crowd and the newer crowds get to see how cool it was to read a comic book the ‘old’ way. The material inside the pages of all the Alterna Comics releases within this new format has been on point too, so you’ll be purchasing a good story/art as well. What else does a comic fan need? Swierczynski and Daniel to Helm JUDGE DREDD

Swierczynski and Daniel to Helm JUDGE DREDD
The acclaimed creators will take readers to Mega-City One this winter!

[Judge Dredd Image]San Diego, CA (July 14, 2012) – After announcing their partnership with the legendary 2000 AD at WonderCon 2012, IDW Publishing is proud to announce Duane Swierczynski and Nelson Daniel as the creative team for their brand-new JUDGE DREDD series! The announcement was made to a capacity crowd during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 celebrating Dredd’s 35th anniversary.

”I’ve loved the work both Duane and Nelson have done for us separately—they’ve both been responsible for some amazingly action-packed and thrilling comics like Godzilla and The Cape,” said IDW’s Chief Creative Officer, Chris Ryall. “So partnering them on Judge Dredd is only going to amp up the excitement here.

“What’s more,” Ryall continued, “while Nelson will be running point on the main story’s art and colors, we’ll also be doing back-up stories in each issue that are tied to the ongoing storyline and that will be illustrated by some big-name talents as well. Folks like Paul Gulacy, Jim Starlin, and many others. Add to that covers by people like Ashley Wood, Carlos Ezquerra, Zach Howard, Whilce Portacio, and so many others, and there will be lots of exciting new artistic interpretations of Dredd to come.”

2000 AD’s Matt Smith echoed Ryall’s excitement “Ever since we announced the deal with IDW, Dredd fans all over the world have been eagerly awaiting news of which writer and artists will be coming to Mega-City One. We’re really pleased with the creative line-up, which will bring a new dimension to Dredd for a whole new generation. It’s been great to see the reaction 2000 AD and Judge Dredd have had at SDCC 2012–and with the new film out in September, 2012 really is the year of DREDD!”

IDW’s JUDGE DREDD series will see new adventures from the legendary character—originally created by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra for the lauded British anthology magazine 2000 AD—who has seen a long and storied career as one of comics’ most popular and enduring characters. For this take on Dredd, IDW and 2000 AD wanted to put creators behind the wheel that hadn’t worked with the character before, creating new stories that would appeal to new Dredd fans, as well as long-time lovers of the rich world of Mega City One.

“I discovered Judge Dredd at the tender age of 15 through a somewhat unlikely source: a bootleg Commodore 64 game where you move Dredd through a digital Mega-City One and pretty much shoot everything in sight. Jonesing for more, I realized that Dredd was a UK import, and super-tough to find here in the U.S. Over the next 25 years, I snapped up all the Dredd stories that I could, savoring them like exotic treats smuggled through customs,” Swierczynski enthused. “When IDW announced an American version a while back, I was over the moon — never even thinking that I would be approached to write this new version. Needless to say, this is the opportunity of lifetime, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. The 15-year-old in me may never recover.”

Daniel shared in the excitement “Judge Dredd is one of my three favorite characters, I’m really excited. Everything in Megacity is amazing, everything is possible, and that’s something I want to draw.”
