The Many Different Faces Of Superman

Here is a short list of various versions of Superman that we’d like to share. Why? Why not? Keep in mind, there are so many variations that we would spend the next month trying to sort through them all. Again, here are some.

Kingdom Come Superman: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics miniseries Kingdom Come, set in an alternate future where Superman has retired from superheroism and a new generation of heroes has taken over.

Injustice

DC Comics Bombshells Superman: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics Bombshells universe, a re-imagining of the DC Comics universe in which all of the characters are redesigned as 1940s-style pin-up girls. In this universe, Superman is depicted as a powerful alien hero who fights to protect Earth from threats both external and internal.

Injustice Superman: This version of Superman appears in the Injustice video game series, set in an alternate universe where Superman becomes a dictator after the Joker tricks him into killing Lois Lane and their unborn child. This version of Superman is more ruthless and aggressive than the mainstream version, and is willing to use his powers to impose his will on the world.

Superman: Red Son: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics graphic novel Superman: Red Son, set in an alternate universe where Superman’s rocket lands in the Soviet Union instead of the United States. This version of Superman becomes a symbol of Soviet power and eventually takes over the world, leading to a conflict with the United States and its own superhero team.

Earth One

Superman: Earth One: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics graphic novel series Superman: Earth One, which is set in an alternate universe where Superman is a young adult just starting out as a superhero. This version of the character is more inexperienced and vulnerable than the mainstream version, and must learn to balance his responsibilities as a hero with his personal relationships.

Superman of the 853rd Century: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics series Legion of Super-Heroes, set in the far future of the DC Comics universe. This version of Superman is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, a group of young heroes from across the galaxy who work together to protect the universe.

Superman: Red Son (animated): This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics animated film Superman: Red Son, which is based on the graphic novel of the same name. This version of Superman is similar to the version that appears in the graphic novel, but also includes additional elements and storylines from the film.

Superman of Earth-2: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics universe known as Earth-2, which is an alternate universe where many of the characters have slightly different histories and characteristics than the mainstream versions. This version of Superman is similar to the mainstream version, but is older and more experienced, and has a wife and children.

Superman of Earth-3: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics universe known as Earth-3, which is an alternate universe where many of the characters are evil counterparts of the mainstream versions. This version of Superman is known as the Crime Syndicate’s “Ultraman,” and is an evil and ruthless version of the character who uses his powers for personal gain.

Red Son

Superman of Earth-23: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics universe known as Earth-23, which is an alternate universe where all of the characters are African or African-American. This version of Superman is known as “Kalel,” and is a young adult who is just starting out as a hero and struggling to balance his responsibilities with his personal life.

Superman of Earth-Prime: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics universe known as Earth-Prime, which is an alternate universe where many of the characters are based on real-life people or events. This version of Superman is a fictional character in the DC Comics universe, but is depicted as existing in the “real” world outside of the comics.

Superman of Earth-X: This version of Superman appears in the DC Comics universe known as Earth-X, which is an alternate universe where the Axis powers won World War II and established a fascist government. This version of Superman is known as “Overman,” and is an ultra-nationalist hero who serves as the leader of the Nazi regime.
