This Week’s Best Comic Covers: Heroes and Icons in the Spotlight
New comics are expected this Wednesday 8/21/24.
Wonder Woman #12 by Guillem March, where Wonder Woman decides to ditch the battlefield for beach vibes, swinging into our hearts in a bathing suit that probably won’t make it to the Justice League’s approved uniform list. Because even Amazonians need a day off. Batman/Superman World’s Finest #30 by Dan Mora captures DC’s Trinity not just looking strong but practically redefining superhero chic. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are serving looks that could stop crime before it even starts. Wolverine: Revenge #1 from Stanley Artgerm Lau brings back the yellow spandex, and thank goodness for that. Wolverine looks ready to leap off the cover and remind us all why he’s the best there is at what he does—looking absolutely fierce while doing it. Over to the electrifying Jenny Sparks #1, where Homare gives us a taste of Jenny’s power with just a flick of her finger. Meanwhile, Jeff Spokes wraps her in the Union Jack, because nothing says “superhero” like a bit of national pride to back up those lightning bolts. Swing through New York with Ultimate Spider-Man #8 by Lee Garbett, where Spidey is doing his best to keep up with the urban jungle. Complete with a looming Kingpin silhouette, this cover promises high stakes and higher swings.
