This Week’s Standout Comic Book Covers On NCBD
New comics will be released on 9/11/24. Our favorite covers……
Venom War Wolverine #1 by Joshua Cassara, where Wolverine’s got a new look, and let’s just say, it’s not for the faint of heart. With claws out and symbiote on, Logan’s ready to show he’s not just tough, he’s tough to look at now. Remember when your mother told you not to run with scissors? Well, Wolverine clearly never got the memo. If you thought the venom was only sticking to Wolverine, think again. In Venomverse Reborn #4 by Ken Lashley, the Black Panther gets a full symbiote makeover. Who needs vibranium when you’re decked out in alien goo? Talk about a wardrobe update. Over in the world where fangs are more popular than bat signals, DC vs. Vampires World War V #2 by Otto Schmidt features a vampire Wonder Woman that makes Dracula look like a vegan. Poor guy in the cover, he’s about to find out that even Amazonian vampires don’t play nice. Spawn The Scorched #33 by Don Aguillo. Here we have a redhead wielding dual swords and wearing a smile that’s too cheerful for the impending doom she’s ready to deliver. It’s like Christmas morning, but with more… swords.

Batman and Robin #13 by Simone Di Meo. This cover’s got Batman doing his best Big Brother impression, looming over Robin like an ominous shadow. Or maybe Batman’s just trying to ensure Robin gets his veggies? Either way, it’s parenting Gotham style! Jonny Quest #2 by Jae Lee, where Jonny’s dealing with a spider on his nose. It’s not quite the spider that bit Peter Parker, but hey, everyone’s got to start somewhere, right? Talk about face your fears, or in this case, nose them! Venom #37 by Cafu, where Spider-Man finds himself a little too close for comfort with Venom. The reflection in Spidey’s eye says it all — “This is going to hurt.” And not just the morning-after kind of hurt. For the fans of the flair and cards, Uncanny X-Men #2 by Luciano Vecchio brings Gambit in his element. Throwing cards with that smug look? Only Gambit can turn a poker night into an explosive event.
