Ultimate Universe #1 – The new Ultimate Universe will begin this Wednesday. After a fifteen-year run from 2000 – 2015, the original Ultimate Universe met its ultimate (pun intended) demise. Maybe we shoot for 16 years this time? All kidding aside, Marvel’s Ultimate Universe was a badass one. Writer Brian Michael Bendis was the mastermind behind the whole thing, as superstar after superstar brought in another piece of the Ultimate puzzle—names like Millar, Ellis, Bagley, and Hitch, among other super talents. Of course, there were some changes throughout the original universe, one that saw superstar writer himself, Jonathan Hickman, provide a relaunch. He is back once again. After his recent Ultimate Invasion story, comes this. We await with bated breath as we foresee some kick-ass stories headed our way once again. Artist Stefano Caselli joins Hickman this Wednesday.
Ranger Academy #2 – Last month we urged collectors to get this series. The Ranger Academy #1 issue was a groundbreaking release in the sense the Power Rangers lure expanded to a place it truly has never been before. The story continues this week, will you get in now? You should.
White Widow #1 – This MARVEL comic should not be mistaken for the amazing cover artistry and comic, White Widow from Absolute Comics. We love us some Jamie Tyndall cover art! This dude is crazy good. His White Widow character is so badass, that some say it rivals Marvel’s White Widow. You should definitely check out the Absolute Comics link provided four sentences ago. Getting back, Marvel’s White Widow returns with another solo spot this week. Writer Sarah Gailey and artist Alessandro Miracolo.
Venom #27 – Did you purchase the previous issue with the first appearance of the Black Widow Symbiote? In this issue we presume to see her in full action, she had limited time in the 26th issue.
Spider-Boy #1 – Cha-ching! That’s the sound of Marvel Comics’ cash register. Ever since this dude first appeared in Spider-Man #7, it’s been craziness for Marvel to get out product quick enough to capitalize. Will Spider-Boy stand the test of time though? Who knows? What we do know is writer Dan Slott will reveal “secrets” about Spider-Boy in this story. Will it be big enough to catapult the character to a higher level? Possibly. No one knows the answers to these questions because it’s way too early in the game here.
