Back in 2008, InvestComics spoke about a $3 comic by the name of Daredevil #254. Right HERE. That same post gave a head’s up on a $9 comic; Showcase 96 #3. But we’re not going to focus on that first Birds of Prey appearance (as awesome as we were and still are). Daredevil #254 (1988) is the first appearance of Typhoid Mary. A CGC 9.2 graded sold for $109 a few days ago. Typhoid Fever Spider-Man #1 is a new offering that’ll focus on the vindictive villainess of Typhoid Mary. Iron Fist season 2 Netflix show features TM. She’s been poised for bigger things since she was introduced by John Romita Jr. and Ann Nocenti in 1988. Is this her ‘big break’? Maybe. Who knows? We do know that writer Clay Chapman and artist Stefano Landini will bring it.
Marvel cranks up the wheel with ‘the return of a classic Marvel Villain that will send chills up your spine’ in Deadpool #5.
What If Spider-Man #1 will ask the question ‘What if someone else was bitten by the radioactivity spider?’ Not an innovative story by any means, because it’s been done a million times, but writer Gerry Conway and artist Diego Olortegui tell their story and we’re all eyes and ears!
Remember a year ago (maybe less) when the speculative sites (not InvestComics) were pushing the Sleepwalker first appearance as the next big modern comic? A 9.6 CGC sold for $42 a few weeks ago. (sarcasm) That’s progress by the dramatic pushers. Infinity Wars Sleepwalker #1 begins another era for the character. Let’s all watch if Sleepwalker #1 (1991) begins that steady climb once again.

There are so many new Spider-Man characters popping up lately, it’s hard to keep up anymore. Eventually one will pop like a Weapon H, Red Goblin or a Cosmic Ghost Rider first appearance. Question is, will the pop sustain and not fall flat on its face. Superior Octopus is not a new character, but one of the newer ones. Superior Octopus #1 from writer Christos Gage and artist Mike Hawthorne.
Legendary X-Men writer Chris Claremont is back to write a new Magneto story; X-Men Black Magneto #1. Art by Dalibor Talajic.
The Shatterstar character once had his own four issue series back in 2005. His co-creator(?) Rob Liefeld was the co-writer and cover artist on the mini-series. Brandon Thomas was the other writer and Marat Mychaels handled the pencils. Shatterstar never saw another series….until now. This Wednesday, Shatterstar #1 from writer Tim Seeley, artists Carlos Villa and Gerardo Sandoval. It seems we’re getting a an origin story here, so if you wanted to know all there is to know about Shatterstar, this will be the place.
