Here are this week’s trending comic books…
Web Of Venom Cult Of Carnage #1 – This Marvel comic will be an origin series regarding Venom. Going to “the depths of space” to witness an evil stirring as Marvel puts it. If it’s stirring, it must be making something, right? So, the making of Venom? We assume. No matter really, this is a number one issue with the names Venom and Carnage in the title. Most will not care, it’s a purchased item no matter what it’s about. What one should really care about is that writer Frank Tieri is on this book. That’s a definite reason to check out this series. Frank Tieri brings it each and every time out. Artist Danilo Beyruth helps to put the visuals to Frank’s words. Lovely combo here. A big trending comic for sure.
Symbiote Spider-Man #1 – Another number one Spider-Man book to feast on this Wednesday. This one from writer Peter David, with artists Greg Land and Iban Coello. Peter David going back in time, before Peter discovers his black suit as an evil entity. The timeline of this series takes readers back to the “Black Suit Saga”. Spider-Man will do battle with Mysterio in this first issue.
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #5 – Wow, three Spidey books in a row. This issue promises a big reveal and Marvel politely request readers to not “miss this special issue”. We won’t. Writer Tom Taylor and artist Jorge Molina.
Marvel Tales Thanos #1 – Three early Thanos appearances all in one book. Past Jim Starlin (Thanos’ papa) stories reprinted for new readers. What is there not to love here? Witness the true beginnings of the Marvel cosmos from creator/writer/artist Jim Starlin.
War Of The Realms Journey Into Mystery #1 – The epic War Of The Realms event spills into another number one comic. Creators Chris McElroy and Andre Araujo.

Star Wars Age Of Rebellion Grand Moff Tarkin #1 – A semi-origin story of Tarkin written by Greg Pak. Art by Marc Laming.
Detective Comics #1001 – After the previous issue ushered in a major anniversary issue, comes the follow-up and the Arkham Knight character in his full presence into the DC Universe. Look for this comic to sell out quick. DC now has two alternative Batman characters that are making their indelible mark. The Batman Who Laughs and Arkham Knight. Writer Peter J Tomasi and artists Brad Walker and Andrew Hennessey.
Batman #68 – When, not if, you look at the new Best Cover Art Of the Week post (coming soon), you’ll notice Amanda Conner’s name pops up a number of times as a credited cover artist. Three times out of nineteen covers to be exact. Now the incredible Amanda Conner makes her way here as she joins writer Tom King. She will be the artist for this Batman issue. An absolute treat to comic fans everywhere.
