DC Has No Plans for Superman

Diane Nelson announced that DC Entertainment has no plans for Superman outside of comics in the near future.

Though the recent restructuring of DC Comics as DC Entertainment allows the company to focus on cross-platform branding (I.E. movies) of their characters, it seems that one of DC’s biggest properties is nowhere to be found in this new agenda. In a recent interview with MTV , Diane Nelson stated that the company has no plans for Superman in the movie world for the time being, dispelling rumors about potential directors like James McTeigue, who recently revealed what he would do if given the opportunity to direct the Man of Steel.

It seems odd that what is arguably DC’s most recognizable character would not be a big part of their plans, but perhaps DC Entertainment is just waiting for the stench of Superman Returns to evaporate before rebooting the franchise.
