From Iron Man, Kylo Ren to Godzilla, This Week’s Best New Cover Art
From Iron Man, Kylo Ren to Godzilla, This Week’s Best New Cover Art.
This week’s best comic book covers aren’t just pretty pictures—they’re collector bait with style. We’ve got Iron Man #7 by Yasmine Putri, where Tony takes a left hook so hard his mask flies off mid-cover. Supergirl shows up in Summer of Superman Special #1 by Alexander Lozano, looking like she accidentally wandered onto a swimsuit photoshoot. Deathstroke charges full chaos in Titans #22 by Tony Daniel, while Kylo Ren smolders in moody smoke on Star Wars Legacy of Vader #3 from Stephanie Hans. Ultimate Wolverine #4 by Iban Coello somehow fits five characters on a single cover without breaking a sweat. Godzilla vs. Hulk #1? The concept wins, even if that Godzilla art doesn’t. And our Cover Gem of the Week? That goes to Detective Comics #1096 by Mikel Janin!

From Iron Man, Kylo Ren to Godzilla, This Week’s Best New Cover Art.
Iron Man #7 by Yasmine Putri is a straight-up knockout—literally. This cover could’ve easily stolen the Cover Gem crown this week, but alas, it took the silver medal by a hair. Yasmine doesn’t just draw Iron Man, she hits him. The moment of impact is savage: Tony Stark’s iconic mask is flying off his face mid-sucker punch, revealing a grimace that says, “this is gonna hurt in the morning.” The movement, detail, and intensity sell this scene like a splash page without the dialogue. Putri’s art here is storytelling in motion. Godzilla vs. Hulk #1 by Stonehouse delivers a visual concept that should have been a slam dunk—Hulk vs. Godzilla, what more do you want? Well, maybe a Godzilla that doesn’t look like your cousin trying to cosplay as the kaiju after a six-pack and no budget. Stonehouse nails the perspective: the back of Hulk, dwarfed by the towering Godzilla, communicates the size and scale beautifully. The tension is there. The drama is there. The Godzilla…not our favorite look. But the power of the composition is undeniable and earns its place here, even if we’re side-eyeing that lizard. Titans #22 from Tony Daniel goes full throttle and doesn’t let up. Deathstroke is coming right at us like a man who skipped every therapy session he ever booked. Guns blazing, full sprint, pure chaos energy. Meanwhile, the rest of the Titans are chilling in the background, drawn in a more subtle, almost faded tone, giving all the attention to our uninvited guest. Daniel knows how to make a cover that screams action without making it a cluttered mess. The spotlight on Deathstroke works, and it works hard. This one’s a full-page punch to the face. Summer of Superman Special #1 by Alexander Lozano could pass for a vintage swimsuit issue if it weren’t for the whole “Supergirl saves the world” thing. Lozano leans hard into the pin-up aesthetic with Supergirl in a charmingly modest yet striking pose—one arm behind her back holding the other, long blonde hair cascading, red and blue costume practically glowing against a pale yellow backdrop. It’s simple. It’s clean. It’s the kind of art that says “you’re going to stare at this longer than you planned to.” Lozano makes it work, and then some. Ultimate Wolverine #4 by Iban Coello brings a full-on jam session of characters to the party and still manages to keep it sharp and cohesive. How does Coello spotlight five characters in different stances and still make each one feel like the main event? That’s the magic. The lines are precise, the colors balanced, and not a single pose gets lost in the noise. It’s practically a masterclass in controlled chaos. Most covers with this much going on get muddy. This one? Pure clarity. Detective Comics #1096 from Mikel Janin is our official Cover Gem of the Week. And yes, it’s worth every bit of that title. But don’t take our word for it—check out; Cover Gem of the Week: Detective Comics #1096 – Mikel Janín and get the full rundown on why this piece and this artist earned top honors. You’ll want to see every detail and get the story behind the twisted clawed hand tearing through the iconic Bat cowl. Janin didn’t just make a cover—he made a statement. Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #3 by Stephanie Hans keeps things moody and ethereal, which is right in Hans’ wheelhouse. Kylo Ren is front and center, or technically, turned to the right, surrounded by a haze of red, yellow, and white smoke like he just walked out of a Sith fashion show. His lightsaber rests low by his side, subtle but deadly. Hans always brings the emotion with her painterly vibe, and this cover is no exception—it feels like a slow-burning fire just waiting to explode. A total mood piece.
